SF Tech Week: Oct 6-12 LA Tech Week: Oct 13-19 Register for events here: SF is on fire, on track to be home to the biggest Tech Week. When we first started Tech Week, it was right after COVID, and we saw so many founders relocating outside the Bay Area to cities all over the US. That first year, SF Tech Week was actually the smallest. This year, it’s set to be the largest. We’ve doubled the number of SF events at launch year over year, a clear signal showing just how much the AI wave is fueling the city’s growth. And this is shaping up to be *the* week for tech in the city. LA was home to the very first Tech Week, and it’s special for me to see how much it’s grown. What makes LA unique is the mix of industries here. We’re seeing two in particular take off - AI in entertainment and deep tech. The best part is how the ecosystem really comes together around Tech Week to champion the city, with so many LA investors and GPs hosting. From the dungeons of Saydnaya prison. Last night after reports of the secret doors being opened, our teams went straight to the prison to see the situation. The doors have not been opened yet and there are still hundreds and maybe thousands of prisoners below the ground in the prison. We have to get this message out to the world the situation is horrific and more and more of Assads crimes are becoming apparent every minute. @liveupdatesfromsyria

I held a Staff meeting today. Many reports on supplies for our troops—weapons, all procurements. Contracts and supplies are in place. But we need to accelerate deliveries and increase the supply of systems and weapons that help save more of our soldiers’ lives. More orders for drones. More investment in the development of robotic systems. And more deliveries of essential weaponry. All necessary directives have been issued. Our industry has the potential. Countries, particularly in Europe, are ready to work with Ukraine and invest in our arms production. Our diplomats have clear tasks. We need to increase our partners' funding for Ukraine's defense. This must also be a key performance indicator for Ukrainian diplomacy.

do you know the first influencer of silicon valley? i met Robert Scoble and instantly knew he was a real legend he's been here for a long time, interviewing every other big founder you know, from riding in the first Tesla with Elon Musk to watching the whole Y Combinator ai startup scene develop in front of his eyes before crunchbase, before twitter, before facebook, there was robert. he believes distribution is the thing that will make tech succeed. that's why it's important for tech to be appealing to everyone outside the ai bubble... that's our mission behind NERDCONF 🤓 we even talked about Burning Man Project and its impact on the nerd community (if you like burning man, you'll love the hackathon we're setting up in homage to it 👀) and, like Adil Mania. from Silicon Mania says, let's make tech fun again! and remember, if you're new to sf: go out and meet people.
