I’m not gunna lie…. THIS SUCKED!!! This Saturday I’m attempting to break a World Record and take my JustGiving page to £1,000,000 for REORG Charity. Normally I’d have some sort of training program I would have stuck to in the run up to such an event, but I’ve been travelling so much for work it hasn’t been easy so this morning was my first training session. The idea is to pull a truck 100m which I found out this morning is much harder than I had anticipated. It’s also extremely difficult to find completely flat ground but as always we did what we could with what we had. Throw into the mix that I have surgery tomorrow and it’s gunna be a hectic week, however…. the mission remains. There are men and women out there from the Military and Emergency Services who need what REORG offers so I’ll suck it up and crack on regardless. I’d appreciate and help you could give me with spreading the word and sharing the challenge. As you know, I’ve spent most of the last decade fighting for better rights and a better deal for UK Veterans. I’m really proud of what we achieved. But I always wanted to achieve more. Much more. I do not accept that veterans are a charity - now even more so than when I made my maiden speech to Parliament ten years ago. I want veterans to access the very best opportunities and services - when they want, how they want to, in a way in which they feel most comfortable, using class-leading technologies. I’m excited to say I’ve been working closely with Alfie from Fill Your Boots (I know, right?!), Ben the CEO of Forces Horizon, and a whole load of other partners who I thought were particularly impressive from my time in office, to fix the issues we still face using the power of innovative tech and artificial intelligence. VeteranX is the result. VeteranX is a UK Tech company founded by Alfie and myself which is building the world’s most comprehensive AI powered platform for veterans, fusing the most powerful large language models and the best datasets on military skills and what they mean for employment after service, together with the most complete integration of third-party resources (Government and Charity), to produce the best global Veteran user experience right here in the UK. It’s for everyone - I’m tired of the competitive nature of the veterans care sector, that still leaves too many out in the cold. I entered the political arena for one reason: to deliver as many knockout punches as it took to bring down this NDP government and to finally return the province to the people of British Columbia. Over the past two years, I introduced 14 bills and fought 17 battles in Question Period. I took on issues other MLAs would not touch. Abolishing the Human Rights Tribunal. Closing drug consumption sites. Defunding Aboriginal title claims over privately owned land. I asked questions that David Eby wouldn’t answer. What is a woman? Why are healthy Canadian men being discriminated against by their own government? Why won't you condemn far-left ANTIFA violence? But fighting against bad ideas was never enough. I also put forward ambitious new policies. This included major reforms to: - lower taxes on housing and income earned by young people; - require foreign residents to contribute toward the cost of healthcare; - protect children from harmful gender ideology and medical procedures; and - make pharmaceutical corporations financially accountable for the harms caused by experimental drug products, among many others. Through all of it, I was fortunate to have one brave ally beside me in the House. Thank you, Jordan Kealy. I also had an extraordinary team in both my legislative and constituency offices. They had my back every step of the way. What I hadn't anticipated was that the fiercest resistance would come from within the BC Conservative Party. Too often, my own former “conservative” colleagues stood in the way of the changes I was fighting for. Changes that aligned with the platform that we all ran on. I left the party to sit as an Independent last year after its AGM left me concerned that the party didn’t respect the democratic rights of its members. That conviction only deepened this summer with the wave of MLA resignations protesting the leader chosen by those same members. I simply can’t stand behind a party that won’t respect the fundamental democratic rights of British Columbians. As for OneBC, I won't rehash last year. What I do want you to know is that we tried to work with Dallas. We really did. And we tried to reconcile with her before the election, too. My team reached out to her through a mutual friend before the writ drop with an offer to put differences aside and to work together as partners through the general election and until OneBC could finally hold its first AGM and leadership review. We received no response to that request. After the writ drop, we saw OneBC announce that they were running a candidate in my riding despite having publicly committed not to split the vote against principled conservatives. If I were to run now as an Independent, with a three-way vote split on the right, a likely outcome would be another NDP MLA. In an election this tight, that could be enough to doom BC to another Eby majority. I'm not going to do that to my fellow British Columbians. I have decided, therefore, not to seek re-election on October 24th, 2026. To my constituents: thank you for trusting me with your stories, your challenges, and your ideas. Serving you has been one of the greatest honours of my life. To my team: thank you from the bottom of my heart. I could not have done any of this without you. You went from acquaintances, to colleagues, to friends, and ultimately to an extended family for which I will always be grateful. To my kids: thank you for all the times you shared me with this job, and for your patience, your love, and your unwavering support. And to my husband and best friend: thank you for standing beside me through every day of this journey, for believing in me, and for giving me the strength to carry on. 040826 | #CHANYEOL IG LIVE “ Wait, no one’s doing a live for anniversary? The members aren’t doing it? That’s kind of disappointing… Anyway, we’ve reached our 14th debut anniversary now. Wow 14 years. It sounds like just a number, but it feels really strange. First of all, I want to say thank you so much for loving us so consistently over these 14 years. Honestly, rather than us being the ones receiving congratulations, I feel like I want to congratulate you instead. Congratulations! It’s been 14 years, it’s our 14th anniversary! And these days, well, not the day after tomorrow, but in three days . . . wait, actually it is the day after tomorrow, right? The concert starts the day after tomorrow. Today we even went somewhere far and rented a really big hall to rehearse the stage movements. We practiced a lot together today, sang a lot too. Yesterday, the day before yesterday, we’ve just been stuck together, practicing nonstop. So I hope you’re really looking forward to this concert too, and once again, happy 14th anniversary. I think it’s going to be really fun. The members have been dropping spoilers and stuff, but for me . . . it’s really because you’ve been there for us that we were able to reach this 14th anniversary. It feels kind of amazing. Over these 14 years of promoting, meeting you all like this and while preparing for this concert, I’ve been thinking a lot about the past. Honestly, preparing for this concert feels the same as when we did one 10 years ago, so even the process and the members, it all feels kind of strange and surreal. But anyway, we’re having so much fun preparing, so I hope you’ll come watch the show soon. We have practice again tomorrow, and rehearsals too. Thank you. We’ll keep working harder and enjoying what we do, and I hope we can keep meeting for a long, long time. Also, the weather suddenly got colder it’s been raining a lot, so it cooled down. Looking at this week, the first day might be a bit chilly and since the first show is in the evening, a late-night performance, I hope you’ll dress warmly. But there’s something I need to tell you . . . since it’s still April, there won’t be air conditioning in the concert venue. I guess it’s some kind of system rule. But once the venue fills up and the performance starts, it’ll get really hot inside, so wear something light underneath and bring a jacket you can take off. If you layer too much like wearing thick sweaters it might actually feel really hot since there’s no AC. That’s a little pro tip. I’ll get going now since we have practice again tomorrow. ‘ Chancon heater incident? ‘ What was that? Can someone tell me? The heater incident? Did something like that happen at my concert?
