We pulled this off in just about two weeks, using a mix of tools like After Effects, TouchDesigner, Cavalry, and Blender. I’ll share the parts I worked on and some bts stuff later.

two weeks with that toolchain is wild. the touchdesigner to after effects pipeline alone usually takes people ages to get right. really curious about the cavalry parts specifically, feels like that tool is still so underused for how powerful it is. looking forward to the bts breakdown

Thanks! Since everyone on the team is stronger in different tools, we each worked in the software we’re most comfortable with. It actually made things easier when it came to final delivery.

I can't believe my eyes! I compared Cavalry render speed to After effects and this happened: forget about that Cavalry rendered a complicated Motion graphic piece without a single lag and very minimal Layer usage that would take a ton of work in after effects, but when I RENDERED animation and gave it to After effects It had a problem playing the RENDERED MP4 VIDEO! and during that it used more ram to play a normal video than Cavalry to just play the raw project file with all the layers and effects. this is just crazy. we might be witnessing a new era of motion design.

Okay… I f*cking love Cavalry. Spent all day watching tutorials. My initial thoughts: Cavalry does a lot of things better than After Effects but After Effects does a lot of things better than Cavalry. The one thing I love so far is the effectors in Cavalry feel SO native.
