She ate this role up so badly. All the racial discourse was for nothing bc she was the perfect casting choice

because people let their racism make them miss out on an absolutely outstanding performance.

She has a slight hint of Jodi Benson in her voice but she made it her own, holding those notes more longer. She added her own little Halleisms to the song to make it different and not exactly the same as the original. I actually listen to her version more than the animated one.
