I, personally, owe them everything. If not for them? A green-eyed Jewish beauty named Sophia Hartog would have met the fate of her extended family remaining in the Netherlands. Had they not fought, bled, died, and prevailed? She would have been dragged from her home, transported to some Nazi death camp, and reduced to a handful of ashes. Instead? Because of them, she left London as war bride in 1945. Sophia was my grandmother. We stand on the shoulders of giants. May we strive to be worthy. #lestweforget2024

really distasteful to use an AI video for this, real human suffering of our great grandfathers made into this for twitter views

I am sure this is shared with good intentions but much more respectful to show the real men who gave their lives for our future rather than a nicely polished fake film

Thank you for remembering them. My Great-grandmother Esther's brother, who laid down his life for us all in Flanders, France. Jonas was only 23 years old when he participated in some of the most ferocious battles of World War 1. He died a Private in the Royal Tank Corps, part of the 26th Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers, known as the "Bankers Battalion." Formed in July 1915, the Bankers Battalion took part in the battles at Flers-Courcelette and Transloy (Somme) in 1916 and in the battles of Messines, Pilckem Ridge, and Menin Road in 1917. At Menin Road Ridge Jonas was part of the valiant fighting force battling the German Fourth Army east of Ypres He lived to fight another day, but 40 thousand British and Australian brothers in arms laid down their lives during Passchendaele. Jonas fought heroically with so many others. He would fall on September 29, 1918, breaking through the Hindenburg line in the battle of San Quentin canal. He died at the tender age of 24. #LestWeForget

Waking up and thinking I’m going to use AI to generate a creepy video of ww1 vets … 😶

I so HATE AI! Wrong helmets, poor depiction, and the one guy was wearing a WWI German headdress….while sitting with a group of black soldiers….um that never happened in either war!
