Exploitation of Civilian Areas: The Hamas Terrorist Organization Fired Live Rounds From Within the Shifa Hospital A few days ago, significant live fire was identified as being conducted out from Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. The use of a civilian structure, and particularly an active hospital, is further proof of Hamas' cynical and systematic modus operandi of exploiting civilian infrastructure as manned terror command posts. By doing so, Hamas knowingly endangers the lives of patients, medical staff and innocent civilians in the Strip. The IDF will continue to operate resolutely to thwart terrorist activity, while adhering to international law and mitigating harm to civilians.

As part of the efforts to allow the movement of residents and international organizations to the southern Gaza Strip for their protection, in recent days the transfer of a storage facility containing rare archaeological artifacts, mosaics, and pottery of the Christian community in the Gaza Strip was made possible. This was carried out in coordination with COGAT's Coordination and Liaison Administration (CLA) for Gaza, in cooperation with an international organization. The unique historical artifacts were transferred to a safe location in coordination between officers at the CLA for Gaza and the international community.

Accordingly, at this time, the Humanitarian Area will be adjusted. The adjustment is being carried out in accordance with precise intelligence indicating that Hamas has embedded terrorist infrastructure in the area defined as the Humanitarian Area. The early warning to civilians is being made in order to mitigate harm to the civilian population and keep civilians away from areas of combat. The IDF just announced that they conducted the largest operation of the war since October 7th, capturing 358 terrorists, including numerous senior leaders from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which is another terrorist organization in Gaza. Where were they hiding? In the Shifa Hospital. Yeah, the same hospital that the IDF cleared out in November and found signs that Israeli hostages were held there, underground terrorist tunnels, and Hamas’s central command under the hospital. Hamas went back to Shifa and barricaged themselves inside because Hamas hides in hospitals. I don’t know how many times I have to say this, but Hamas continuously puts Palestinian civilians in harms way, by turning hospitals into their terrorist hideouts. Meanwhile, the IDF has been supplying food, water, and generators to the hospital because this is a war against Hamas, not against the Palestinians in Gaza. This is what we’re going up against. And Israel will continue to do everything it can to protect civilians, while targeting Hamas terrorists. Gaza will only be free when Hamas is defeated.
