We have many proposals for the development of Wayanad and have held discussions with all concerned. We have our government here, and we are very hopeful that we will be able to do a lot of work. Starting with the medical college, the tribal university, and the pending road projects, many projects were held up by the last government. Similarly, Himachal Pradesh has faced large-scale devastation, and they are seeking help from the Centre. I have already raised this issue once, and I will continue to do so. I believe it is something we need to look into carefully. It’s a complex issue with no easy solutions, but I will certainly apply as much pressure as possible and raise it at every opportunity. We also need more funding. During my last visit here, I met with the District Magistrate and forest officials, and we discussed the challenges, particularly the lack of funding from both the Centre and the state. I will push for these issues to be resolved because with more funding, we can ensure better monitoring, improved safety measures, and stronger protection—not just for wildlife but also for forest guards, watchmen, and others involved.
