Better electronic health records only matter if VA staff actually use the record to protect Veterans. I am a 100% P&T wheelchair-dependent Veteran at Atlanta VA. About 15 months ago, I was hit by a car while in my wheelchair in a VA crosswalk. Since then, I have been fighting for safe mobility, clear written clinical reasoning, and a real interim plan from Atlanta VA PM&R/PT/Prosthetics. My record shows wheelchair dependence, unsafe transfers, toileting/hygiene needs, skin breakdown risk, and serious home-access barriers. I have been denied SHA/SAH four times while still living with unsafe access and no workable setup. Better records should mean better care. Please make that true for Veterans living this reality. How do we get the records fixed that your Va doctors wrote up fake notes and lies and stuff never discussed between the doctors and veterans? How do we fix the failures of the Va system that has messed over so many combat veterans and veterans for decades? Do that first, then start something better. Because even if you make the records easier to access or whatever you’re trying to do. It still carries over the lies and false information the doctors put in them. Have you tried to use the VA system? It's still VERY broke. Adding sites doesn't fix the problems with claim processing!

If anything at the VA was working it was the health record system. Seriously why pick the one thing that didn't need an upgrade? Everything else is sub par but that. I'm seriously questioning your knowledge of the VA at this point.

You need to termite the lazy, incompetent, non caring nurses that do not speak Clear Understandable English. It is extremely dangerous at the Lake Nona and Gainesville VAMC..

I retired from the VA 10 years ago and we had been working on the electronic health records and the interface with DOD for 5 years already. Instead of adapting most workflows to work with standard health records, the stupid people at VA wanted to make zillions of changes to the software so they didn’t have to change any of their workflows. They got away with it for years. Stupid and a maintenance nightmare!

How bout stop talking about fixing VA systematically denying veterans because their toxic exposure was in the wrong location and actually fix it.

Try getting the employees at the VA offices to STOP filling our claims in cardboard boxes and then throwing them away. Also try getting them to enter their information correctly into your so called new system.

Phoenix VA has gotten better but there is no reason for it to take six months to get new glasses. Thank you for all of your hard work.

Does this mean that VA doctors now actually have to put something in the electronic records?? Currently, they just check a box that we "arrived at the appointment", with zero notes or follow up in the record!! Sure would be nice to know what the appointment was for!

I am still waiting to be granted service connected disabilities for close to 9 years. VA concedes Toxic Environmental Risk Activities, but I guess I wasn't exposed enough WTF. I still have cancer and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with a nexus, medical opinions & evidence.

I've been denied service twice at a VA clinic because the system they use doesn't have the same information that the medical center has. The clinic doesn't do anything but look at me like I am an alien. I asked them to call the medical center. They say it's not what they do

I’d like the appointments tab to say what the appointment is for. I’ve had more PCP doctors than I have fingers and toes; I don’t know what the appointment is for based on a doctors name alone. On the 16th of June I have an appointment with “Video”; Reason “Not Provided”.

That’s great. Please work on creating more beds in nursing homes for veterans. And preferably better than the 1.5 star accommodations you currently offer. I can’t find anywhere decent in GA to place my dad. The one place I did find, he was there three weeks and I took him out. Minus most of the clothes he arrived with. They stole his clothes! These men and women deserve dignity and care in their final years.

Clean out the corrupt Patient Advocate office at American Lake VA Medical Center.

My Community Care office, after numerous phone trees, takes about 45 minutes to answer the phone. Dropped calls are common. That's the easy part - I've been tying to secure a claim for Hypertension, presumed from Agent Orange, Vietnam. DENIED for years! Less talk, do better!

That's great I didn't know I had Tricare for 11 years after I was divorced because the ex hadn't told the VA in order to continue receiving higher benefits. I wasn't told until I received notice from doctor's billing because there's not a cross index until you're on Medicare.

Been denied time and time again. The VA implanted IDC Ddd214 GMG3 I served as a SA in deck have crew book to show proof. Was denied even though they found agina and was treated 3 days before discharged. VA is reviewing it presently. Why did I have to show crew book?

My husband is an Okinawa vet in the early 60's. He suffers from so much. Why doesn't the VA approve help from all the chemicals including AO?

But they all need to be able to talk to each other, there must be continuity. As the wife of a Vietnam vet who is receiving VA medical care, I recommend that one of the best things you could do with these upgrades, to test them for their user friendliness, is to go into those websites, use the VA phone numbers, VA links on the websites, and act as if you are a patient seeking care. Right now it is anything but friendly. It is disconnected, scattered, and laborious navigating VA.

How about working on CHAMP VA. For families. It has taken almost 2 years snd MANY phone calls to get my insurance straightened out! Still having problems, with no permanent fix!😭
