We (Nigerians) have a culture that believes in organ harvesting for sale... It's very difficult to harvest a kidney... A general surgeon cannot harvest a kidney; only a specialist can. People think that they harvest kidneys and transport them out for sale, but there is nothing like that ... both the donor and the receiver will have to be in the same theatre. The team that harvests the kidney is different from the team that will transplant because if you keep the kidney for some time, it dies off.
