@johnsonhoughton Eve has a very salient point. The Windsor Castle is the only 2yo race at Royal Ascot that gives the small owner a chance of a winner. The Norfolk, Queen Mary, Coventry, Albany and Chesham are usually carved up by the big yards, and you can now add the Windsor Castle from 2026.

@johnsonhoughton Eve is right.. I talked about this with a trainer today ( we were at a racecourse working some horses ) majority against it and could lead to pressure on trainers to get horses ready before they might usually be
