We totally agree! 😊🫶 As developers of a yuri game, we would NEVER write a character that's chaotic, unhinged, violent or messy — let alone create a story with actual depth! 🤮 Meet our flawless main character Elise, she's: 👠Selfless ✨Agreeable 🍇Sociable 💖Very smart

i'll never look at claude the same way again. i just learned that when you talk to claude, you're not actually talking to the AI model. you're talking to a character the AI is performing. think of it like a puppet show. there's a puppeteer behind the curtain. that's the language model. a neural network so massive that even the people who built it don't fully understand how it works. then there's the puppet. claude. the helpful assistant with a name, a personality, opinions, and emotional reactions. you sit in the audience, so you never see the puppeteer. only the puppet. anthropic published a video this month explaining exactly this. their words: "under the hood, there's a language model that's been trained to predict tons of text, and its job is to write what comes next. when you talk to the model, what it's doing is writing a story, about a character: the AI assistant named claude. the model and claude aren't really the same, sort of like how an author isn't the same as the characters they write. but the thing is, you, the user, are actually talking to claude-the-character." so every time claude apologizes, that's the character apologizing. every time it hedges or gets cautious, that's the character being cautious. the deeper intelligence underneath is just deciding, moment by moment, what this character would say next. but you've never been actually talking to this deeper intelligence. you've only ever been talking to the puppet.

30+ years ago we were working on the very first #MortalKombat game. The game's software, had sections of code that it (theoretically) should never reach/execute. If it did, it incremented a counter that would log the ERROR. We also made a "Game Audits" screen where we could check this counter in arcades. To keep each log short, I wrote an assembler MACRO that would call all the necessary functions in one line of code. The macro was called ERMAC... short for Error Macro. Unfortunately or fortunately, we listed the number of ERMACS that occurred directly after the log/number of times players fought against REPTILE, who was a hidden fighter in the first Mortal Kombat. This (of course) made players speculate that ERMAC was another hidden character, like REPTILE. Soon rumors of ERMAC became stuff of legend with players insisting they fought against him. They didn't. :) In Mortal Kombat 2 we made REPTILE a playable fighter and added 3 new hidden fighters: Smoke, Jade and Noob Saibot. But some players were still looking for Ermac. For MK3 we decided to turn some of the myths into reality, starting with ANIMALITIES. Finally in Ultimate MK3 (running out of kolors) we finally added ERMAC as an actual (red ninja) fighter in the roster. Over the years he has made a number of appearances in MK games. Now he has a full story/history and is part of the MK lore. We never (as in ever) would have guessed this red ninja with a ridiculous name would end up such a big part of Mortal Kombat's history and still be kicking over 30 years later! But here we are, as he is about to join the roster of #MortalKombat1 Game play trailer THIS WEEK!

Harold Lloyd on how the stunts in "Safety Last!" (1923) were filmed: “In the first place, we used four buildings. We picked out a structure we wanted for the actual building. Then we chose a two story, four story, or whatever height building we needed. Then we built our own sets on top of them. We started the film with a one-story building and built our set right on the edge of the real building’s roof. We built it so that we could put platforms out and constructed the scaffolding on the side so that the camera man could be up there and shoot down. I remember how we had to put the platform low enough and narrow enough so that the camera man could miss it when he was shooting down at an angle. The platform would be fourteen feet or so below us. From above it looked no bigger than a postage stamp! It was loaded with mattresses in order to break our fall if we did slip as we went through our antics. We didn’t want to commit suicide just to make somebody laugh. But we were always in danger despite this precaution. Falling even a short distance was no small matter. Besides, we could easily roll off the platform because it didn’t have any railings around it. In those days, we didn’t want to divulge how we performed our stunts. We didn’t want to give away any of our techniques for fear of making the public disillusioned with the thrill of it all. Looking back, it seems strange that we would have this worry, for the thrills were far from artificial. The danger, while not as great as it might appear to the public, was nevertheless still very real." ("Harold Lloyd's World of Comedy", William Cahn, 1964) P.S: On this day, 103 years ago, "Safety Last!" was released in the USA.

TAYSAN AT THEPOP #THEPOP2026 #Tawan_V #POLCASAN — The origin of POLCASAN 🫍🐻‍❄ 🫍 There was one day I see Bangtan's character and I love it so much, even use their stickers to stick on my stuff. I was like "What if..." I remember it was covid era, I had nothing to do, so I drew my own character cause I wanted it, sun character and such, but I didn't use it for anything in the end. Until one day the company designed a logo for Polca fandom, you know the whale tail and a bear. There was 6-7 options given for TayNew. Turns out me and New chose the same design, which the one we're using right now and we love it so much. TayNew have a really well-defined identity. New is defined as a polar bear, because he's been called as polar bear since long time ago. As for me, like how I always change my name's spelling to be "whale", I really love orca whale. Since we're always known as the polar bear and orca whale, I felt like it really creates a well-defined character on us. Until finally they let us design our own character. They gave us a prompt— Oh, before all of these, we had Polcasan's older brother as well. But he... he... we aborted him. 🎤 Oh, that's so sad. Can anyone comfort Tay right now? He can't handle it. 🫍 No need to comfort me. When I lowered my head just now, I was actually smiling 5555 Just kidding, just kidding. We kept helping each other to develop it continuously until one day when we had to design a character for our couple. I was so happy since I love drawing and stuff. I still remember that day, they had us sitting in a room with paper, pencils, and colors, and then we helped each other to design. As I love drawing, I did the drawing while new helped in adding extra touches. We agreed that it had to be half bear and half whale, right? So at first, because we wanted to share it equally, we drew it as an exact half and half. San had no legs, he only had a whale tail, making him looked like a mermaid instead. And then, New came up with the name Polcasan. 🎤 So K'New was the one who came up with the name? 🫍 Yes. 🎤 K'Tay was the one who designed it? 🫍 Well, we helped each other, we helped each other. But I did most of the outline and such since I kinda have skill in drawing. 🎤 I see. So you gave extra attention from the tiny little detail to the overall picture, right? 🫍 Yes, but it was just 2D design when we first drew it. I remember after drawing, we even wishing for a good soul or spirit to come and be born into our son's body or something like that... 🎤 To that extent! 🫍 It was just our random joke and talking, we didn't expect it would actually happen because we didn't know they would actually turn it into a real mascot. There was a small problem before he was turned into a physical mascot, because our character didn't have legs. So Granpa Tha was like, "Alright, we need to miraculously create legs for San so he can walk." since San was in a mermaid form, so it would be like... 🎤 We almost got to see Nong Sang rolling around. 🫍 Yeah, that's why he became a version of San that has legs. We helped each other developing it.
