We understand that there are concerns regarding the compensation package for teachers. Information Minister, the Honourable Robert Morgan provided a simplified overview of the changes in salaries for different categories of teachers.

At the end of the day it's very unfair that teachers who are at the grass root of our nation aren't compensated better and we hear that's all the government can do. Is it that we don't want to retain high calibre teachers and nurses?

I have lost faith and respect for this govt, this exercise has revealed that some civil servants will always be struggling to make.ends meet while those at the top continue to live lavishly

Us government workers have been working day in day out n nothing to show. Whenever, u apply to nht nothing, our salary do not allow us to get a house from private developers. Jamaica no fi be so hard man the system set up to run us away.

Y’all are tone deaf ….y’all could’ve already afford life n daily expenses suh now just becuz everybody who deserved an increase rightfully got one, y’all thought 100% increase for “yourselfs” who we’re already “well off” was okay? If y’all had taken 50 it wouldn’t sting as much.

Can you tell us the percent increase the MRI and ct machines at KPH is getting over the next year? Those machines are currently doing more work than some of you politicians. For reference they have been broken for YEARS… see the parallels?

This is misleading as we need to remember all the allowances they used to receive that were not taxed and are now rolled into basic salary and everything is taxed. So the math is not correct. Quite frankly, teachers and guidance counselors for what they do are paid too little!

There’s also serious concerns about the amount in increase of salaries for politicians. It’s way too much when healthcare crime & education can use more of taxpayer dollars

Dear readers, Kindly note that income tax took back that increase and some. I don't know why the government is pretending and seeking to justify the wrong they have done. These sums quoted per annum, when divided into months, that's when the true pic is seen.

This dude @NestaJA is full of it!!.....a 100% increase on 1mil in the current economic climate is way way different from 100% increase on 9mil..much more a 200% increase...I hope the electorate take note of these things!
