That’s what he agreed to. McCarthy must make good on his word. The House should have been working on the appropriations bills for months. If they were running behind, the House should have never taken a break. This is mismanagement on an epic scale. It’s why we consider the House to be full of 🤡🤡🤡

The way to fund the government is not by doing it the same way Congress has since the mid-90s, where it's one up or down vote on the entire government all at once. We should have separate single-subject spending bills. Kevin McCarthy promised that in January. He is in breach of that promise. I'm not here to hold the government hostage. I'm here to hold Kevin McCarthy to his word.

Watching House Republicans is like watching a football team whose best play is the punt and the block. Last I checked, Republicans actually have a majority in the House of Representatives! But you wouldn’t know it because we are all too willing to continue the policy choices of Joe Biden and the spending levels of Nancy Pelosi instead of showing the will and the courage to say that this woke and weaponized government should be DEFANGED! We should REJECT this Continuing Resolution. We should pass single-subject spending bills and vote for the spending cuts that this country desperately needs.

Congress should not take one up or down vote to fund the entire United States government. That is the reason we are nearly $38 trillion in debt. We have to break the fever dream of governing by omnibus spending bills and continuing resolutions. We have to get to single-subject spending bills so these agencies have to defend their budget and its programmatic review.

Real governing is not when they delay everything, back us up against shutdown politics, and then get us to vote for a continuing resolution where the lobbyists are in charge of what’s in it.
