Shit, most of us didn’t even live in our parents house when we turned 18, we done moved out and started on our own at 16 if not before. We definitely we’re not trying to stay in our parents house past age 18, and we weren’t trying to be at home all day when we did live there

Just a question, what do you call boomers who were on the cusp of boomers and genX? I'm one of those, born in the boomer generation but grew up as a genX'er. Be back when the street lights come on ore you're ---, spent all my time out and about. From about 6 am till the street lights came on. One of the comments mention the drugs and not booze. Well for me, the weekend was a bag of Thai-stick, a forty pounder of CC and a barrel of KFC. Not to mention, skinny dipping, bike jumping, dodgeball and a few other things.

As a 16yo boomer, I’d hang out with my friends in our work uniforms that smelled like week old fry oil and dried milkshake partying on the roof of the McDonald’s after we closed it and were home before our parents got up. 👍

We used to go bar crawling then hit the local 24 hour diner. Then go back to base and do morning PT.

"Played quarters with Wild Turkey." Yes, sir! 😂 And absolutely, calling in sick was NOT an option, nor was moving back in with our parents. We did what we had to do and worked jobs we hated bc bills do not pay themselves.

In high school I worked in a gas station and the smell of the solvent to patch a tire or tube was hell to breathe in with a hangover. Then in the Army, we would still do physical training (PT) with a hangover, which had its own challenges. I don’t miss the hangover days.
