Is this a uniquely US attitude? I’ve traveled to many countries and have never been shamed or attacked because I did not speak their language. I’m not sure if it happens elsewhere. The irony is the name America was taken from Amerigo Vespucci a Italian who never spoke English.

Here’s a thought for anyone that wants to show support for Amy’s Pizzeria and do some good even if you’re not in the area - call them up and order a couple of pizzas from them and see if they can deliver them to a homeless shelter or something like that.

You can always tell what kind of human someone is by the way they treat people in service industries—especially those behind a counter. There’s something about that counter that brings out the worst in people. I know, because I was in that position at several jobs.
