The Congress Manifesto 2024 is clear. It specifically states the following: Congress will conduct a nation-wide Socio-Economic and Caste Census to enumerate the castes and sub-castes and their socio-economic conditions. Based on the data, we will strengthen the agenda for affirmative action. The economic empowerment of minorities is a necessary step for India to realise its full potential. We will ensure that banks will provide institutional credit to minorities without discrimination. We will ensure that the minorities receive their fair share of opportunities in education, healthcare, public employment, public works contracts, skill development, sports and cultural activities without discrimination. Recently, Rahul Gandhi also, in a public program in Maharashtra (16th Mar 2024), spoke about a comprehensive economic, financial and institutional survey to know who has how much wealth (perhaps before it can be redistributed). It is clear as day light that Congress wants to take away our wealth, wealth of the poor and marginalised, SCs, STs, savings of the women and redistribute it, specifically amongst the minorities, like Congress UPA had wanted to. They can’t run away from their own promises now that they have been called out.

While leaving PM House after a meeting the eminent sociologist Prof Andre Beteille told Dr Manmohan Singh replied, "It's hard to get in." To this Dr Manmohan Singh, "It's even harder to get out." Dr Manmohan Singh and Prof Andre Beteille had been colleagues at The Delhi School of Economics but this conversation happened years later when Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister.
