Today I urged the government to clearly set out the timeline for when Palestine will be recognised as a state. We need to move past vague promises and see real action on the recognition of Palestine. There will not be a two-state solution until the international community comes together and insists upon it, and we must play our part in that.

My proposal is for a Basic Law to recognize the State of Palestine in the Knesset. 146 countries have already recognized it (88% of the world’s nations). The Knesset must recognize the State of Palestine. Only then will the conflict end, and we will establish peace. I support a Palestinian state because I am human, because I am Palestinian, because I am a citizen of Israel, and also because I am an Arab citizen within the state.

We must set the right priorities, including our debates in Europe. Too many governments are still thinking about future relations with Russia. Instead, Europe's first priority must be Ukraine's victory. Then we must work for Ukraine's future, a positive future, a flourishing country, economically successful, with the strength to integrate veterans and refugees who are returning. Because everyone is working together on reconstruction. Russia must pay for this and learn to lose! We should think about the return of the abducted Ukrainian children and the investigation of Russian war crimes. Ukraine must be the top priority! Occupation, annexation, and the erasure of Palestinian rights and identity in Gaza, the West Bank including Jerusalem must end. The Palestinian struggle for liberation and self-determination is over a century old. Gaza will not be separated from Palestine. And the Palestinian people will represent themselves.
