It is important to continue working together on the resilience of Ukrainian communities – and therefore on the experience of resilience that will be useful to communities in your countries. It is enormously helpful for Ukraine to feel that we are not alone in our defense. People in your countries, as well as here in Ukraine, must continue to feel that evil will not prevail. And we will remain very grateful to you for every joint project, every strong decision, every step that helps our defense and the protection of our cities and villages from Russian strikes, and for your participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction. The fate of our freedom and yours is being decided here, in Ukraine, in this war – in which system prevails here: our shared European system, or Moscow’s. Today, in Slavutych, in the north of our country, I met with the heads of communities of the northern regions – Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. It is very important to support our people here and strengthen our defenses, and that is exactly what we are doing. This concerns protective infrastructure – fortifications and other defensive measures – as well as strengthening the border, which will be reinforced further. It also concerns our Defense and Security Forces stationed in this direction – toward Chernihiv and Kyiv from the territory of neighboring Belarus, which Russia is eager to draw deeper into this war, and from Russia’s Bryansk region. We have the capability to strengthen our defenses. We also have the capability to act preventively with regard to Russian territory from which threats may emerge, and with regard to the de facto leadership of Belarus, which must stay on its toes – that is, clearly understand that there will be consequences if aggressive actions against Ukraine, against our people, are taken.

A month remains before the start of the new political season in our partner countries. And we will do everything possible to make this season as conducive as possible to our movement to victory, to our desire to restore peace for the whole of Ukraine – without exception. Russia’s war against Ukraine hasn’t ended yet – every day, Russia kills our people on the front lines and attacks our cities and energy infrastructure. So, while diplomatic efforts to end this war continue, it is crucial that our partners don’t forget that Ukraine still needs sufficient defense support, security support, and support for our resilience – every single day. And I am grateful that all members of our Coalition of the Willing understand this and are ready to continue helping our army, our people, and our resilience. It is important that we keep rallying support for both defense and diplomacy. Today’s conversation with 40 members of the Coalition confirms this. Thank you all!

Today, I held a meeting with our foreign affairs team regarding our special foreign policy opportunities. These opportunities are available to our state thanks to many Ukrainians and millions of citizens from other countries who believe in Ukraine and support us. These opportunities allow us to keep Ukraine in the global spotlight, increase support for our state and our people, and effectively advocate for Ukrainian needs. The primary need is to end the war as quickly and justly as possible. Ukrainians have endured and achieved so much in this war because we have united not only within our state but also kept the world united for the right cause – for Ukraine and for everything that makes our world humane and capable of defeating evil. Our unity must continue to be preserved – everyone here in Ukraine, everyone in Europe, and the world who values Ukraine and life. This August, we are preparing news about greater consolidation of our people and everyone worldwide who helps us.

Today, we began the day with President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel Petr Pavel and our meeting in Moshchun, Kyiv region – a place that is both symbolic and deeply memorable for all of us in Ukraine. The battles for Moshchun against the Russian occupiers played a crucial role in the defense of Kyiv, and therefore the defense of our entire country. Together, we honored the memory of our fallen warriors who fought for Ukraine’s freedom, and expressed our gratitude to all the heroes — thanks to whom we are here today – in Ukrainian Kyiv, in our independent state. And it will always be this way – we will definitely preserve Ukraine’s independence.
