I worked 5 consecutive seasons in Japan flying helicopters and they got hammered by typhoons constantly while I was there. weather is driven by the suns output and the earth's magnetic field has been waning so more energy is entering.

My wife is from the Philippines and in the area she grew up in there they often have some mild to moderate flooding in some years. However, this year she said it is the worst that she has ever seen, even as a child and places that never flooded before are flooding this year.
