Very few websites were useful for browsing on iPhone. Half were using Flash and those using HTML were not responsive. But the situation changed very fast after 2010. ⚡

Mind you, having a phone displaying the desktop site, unaltered, was a huge thing. Back then, phones that could go on the web would dumb down the layout of the sites to accommodate their little processing power and limited data connections.

I'd disagree- that was post 800x600 era & designers were messing with responsive design. Common wisdom said you needed a second (or third or fourth, etc. depending) site that was just for mobile. Mobile sites were so uncommon that shops were specializing in it. Source: I lived it

I remember when I first learned about the iPhone at a High School assembly.

I remember having an iPods Touch with a similar layout. Nowadays, you have Samsung and the iPhone. Man how time flies.

Where is pop-up ? Third Party cookies Banners ? Recommendation algorithm ? Too much macro white space ? Newsletter footer ? Subscription ? Phone number, e-mail or Google or Facebook account for use ?

Reponsive web design is vastly overrated.
