It's not all about the scale. Your mobility is improving, you're establishing great habits, and I wouldn't be surprised if you're putting on some muscle. All those things are FAR more important than the number on the scale. Keep going!! We're cheering for you!

Don’t let that number thing get you down or make you quit. You lived your dream, going to Florida. Who doesn’t eat or drink different stuff while away in a new place. Back on the horse now and you will ride to victory.

If you ever watched the show, The Biggest Loser, one of the things that happened all the time is that people would gain weight when the cast would travel. You’re making a lifestyle change; and that is extremely difficult to maintain when traveling. Don’t let this distract you from your goals. Keep pushing forward.

I know this isn't going to feel helpful, but this is entirely normal, especially since you traveled. You're changing your life, not just your waist size. Keep going.

Do NOT let this get you down. This was to be expected, and several factors would contribute to it. For example: 1. Gaining muscle, which weighs more than the fat you are losing. 2. Body temporarily retaining more fluids (because of the trip to a hot beach) Anyone can look at you older videos vs. this one and easily tell you are losing the fat. You are getting healthier, and that is the main goal. As someone mentioned, if the weight fluctuation is getting to you, go to monthly or bi monthly weigh-ins.

This is a normal part of losing you got this. You are a motivator for people all over the world

Muscle! You are building muscle and getting strong!

You have been in Florida. Heat can cause you to retain more fluids in order to keep your body hydrated. Along with traveling which can make keeping your diet more difficult, and some muscle gain, could explain the scale. You’ll lose a lot of it soon, especially the fluid retention. Stay at it!

You didn't gain fat brother. That's water weight from travelling or just a bad reading. These scales aren't that accurate. Weigh yourself first thing in the morning once you void to get the most consistent and accurate reading. Hydrate over the next couple days and wait for the next weigh in. It takes 7-10 for water weight to go away.

The more important "measurement" is how do you feel? I can tell you body shape is changing.

Is water, my friend. That's OK - do not let it get you down. You're on the right track and just getting started. Stay the course and you will succeed! Keep going, Reed. Don't ever stop.

I don't care what that scale says, Reed. You are looking noticeable better. Even from these short videos, your mobility is better, your skin tone is good, and so much more. On my journey right now, I'm not even weighing myself. I can see the changes in the mirror, in the way I feel, and what others are saying. The weight will be the weight. Keep putting good things into your body. Do your research. Learn. Enjoy the process. Every good meal, ever lap in the pool is a victory!

Not the direction you wanted but remember going on vacation with the stressors causes your body to excrete that "save it all" hormone. I always gain 5-10 after going on vaca. Remember you're treating your life not your numbers 💐

I agree with the other folks saying this is normal, especially after travel. Just keep up the exercise and, importantly, drink lots of water! And remember...

Reed, we're in this together. Do not get discouraged. Just pick it up from here...we continue in a forward motion, knowing that we will succeed at the next weigh in. Don't get down on yourself. You have much love and support here to succeed and you will and you are! Keep going!

Don't stop!!! You are an inspiration!

It's not a "gain" as you're thinking. Everyone's weight fluctuates greatly. Consider a monthly or every other month weigh-in. You have nothing to gain beating yourself up over the scale. Plus muscle weighs more than fat, you can get physically slimmer while "gaining" weight!

You're right that does not make sense But remember your weight is only one aspect of a healthier body It would be interesting if you did water displacement, because that would judge your size as well The bottom line is, you're still putting the work in, and sometimes scales are not friendly Keep doing the work, and we will keep cheering you on

Gaining muscle weight. You’re doing fine buddy!

If you start to feel bad as you think about this, please process those feelings here. I don't want you to be stuck in your head feeling worried or sad. You do a great job of asking for the advice/support you need here; please let us keep helping. We're all still proud of you.

Don't get discouraged! Have you tried taking water pills? That will help you to flush out water your body is retaining.

Dont get discouraged. Weight loss journeys aren't always going to be always easy! I always make sure to count ALL calories. Lets LOCK IN! Next week will be better!

i'm not a health pro so i'm not going to say anything, other than keep going strong. you are doing the work. we are here for you.

If you are gaining weight week over week then you are not sticking to your diet. You gotta be honest with yourself bro.

You are doing great 👍🏻 don’t you dare stop!

Weight fluctuations are normal, don’t let it get you down. You could be retaining water - make sure you are drinking enough.

Do not let this gain get you down. You are crushing it. You’re in Florida and walked into the ocean. Every ride has up and downs.

Reed, my thought (like MANY others) is this is you building muscle. You’re WALKING on your own for large stretches of time. The muscle that generates could explain this, IMHO. Keep pushing the exercise and healthy eating HARD. Do NOT get dispirited! We’re with you!

Hang in there I know you're probably totally disappointed again It's probably time to talk to somebody to review what your doing this might be normal for someone that has this kind of weight to carry Don't give up you got a lot of fans out here hoping you reach your goal one day

That is just a single part of the health equation. You absolutely can NOT let that "magic number" get in your brain. You WILL get there, but if you set it in your brain and allow yourself discouragement it is planting a tiny seed every time. ALL of that extra tissue in your body is VERY capable of retaining SO much water. I carry 3-4 lbs extra water daily just from hydrating. If I fast/limit hydration, I can drop 12 lbs, easy. Did you have a recent big meal? Lots of water? etc. Keep making the next right choice, every time. Every choice. Keep doing what you are doing, work harder and lift strong. Muscle boosts metabolism and annihilates fat. Last note: think about where you WERE. How much you couldn't do. Versus how much you CAN do today! You GOT THIS Reed!!! Keep pushing brother!

You’re still down 40+ lbs and your mobility is up so You’re definitely gaining muscle mass. Maybe try some measurements. Or water displacement test I bet you will see a difference. When you workout you are not only burning calories, but if you were low and muscle density you’re muscles will grow in one square inch of muscle weighs more than one square inch of fat.

Reed! You’re probably putting some muscle on and muscle weighs more than fat. Keep going!

Imagine all the muscle you have below that fat... your legs must be super-strong. Very impressive individual - never stop and when you arrive, never let yourself get like this again. Life is so much more difficult as a fat guy.

You might be retaining water. Dandelion root and magnesium help with this. Keep up the good work and don’t get discouraged. Weight loss is not linear-there are ups and downs along the way. You’ve got this! 💪😃

Keep trying. It’s a journey up and down. You got this. Don’t let it discourage you.
