In complete and total agreement that we need to resurrect a Cavalier Spirit, a Southern Spirit, whatever you’d like to refer to it as. However, Cromwell and John Brown don’t deserve to be said in the same sentence. Napoleon idolized Cromwell. He was Hitlers favorite too. Both did this for quite good reason. Cromwell was also the one who first most truly unified England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. A great man to be emulated, and looked to in many regards, who led the New Model Army to victory, and Charles I did deserve what he got. Meanwhile, John Brown was just an insane murderer who led one of the most hilariously poorly planned operations that relied on the slaves all rising up, and even though thousands could’ve joined him, he got a grand total of 2, and then was rightfully crushed by Robert E. Lee and JEB Stuart. There’s a reason why John Brown pretty much exclusively resonates with insane leftists. However, most of those who still speak of Cromwell? They’re right wing nationalists. There’s no need to trash him, when he’s a great man who can be used and resonated with.

Conservatives had high hopes. He was supposed to be one of us. That was twenty one years ago. Let us look at what we got. Roberts was the deciding vote that saved Obamacare. Twice. In 2012 he rewrote the individual mandate as a tax to make it constitutional when it clearly was not. In 2015 he twisted the plain language of the statute to save it again when the text of the law was clearly on our side. The left was as shocked as we were that he saved it. And then he did it again. He sided with the liberals to strike down Louisiana's abortion clinic regulations in 2020, regulations nearly identical to ones he had previously voted to uphold. He joined the liberals to protect DACA, shielding Obama's unconstitutional amnesty program from being unwound by a Republican president. Today he joined Barrett and the three liberal justices to rule that mail in ballots do not need to be received by Election Day. On an election integrity case, with a Republican president in the White House fighting for the outcome, Roberts went the other way. This is not a one time thing. This is not a coincidence. This is a pattern spanning two decades. Roberts has voted with the liberal bloc on healthcare, immigration, abortion, and now election integrity. The cases that matter most to this movement are the cases where Roberts most often finds a reason to walk across the aisle. His defenders say he is protecting the institutional integrity of the Court. That he is playing a long game. That he is keeping the Court from appearing too political. Here is the problem with that argument. The left does not worry about appearing too political. They never have. They fight for every inch and they do not apologize for it. While Roberts is busy protecting the reputation of an institution, the institution keeps handing defeats to the people who believed in it. We are not asking for a rubber stamp. We are asking for a justice who applies the Constitution as written without one eye permanently fixed on what the New York Times editorial board is going to say the next morning. Alito does that. Thomas does that. Gorsuch does that. Roberts has given us twenty one years of carefully crafted, institutionally minded, reputation protecting decisions that keep landing on the wrong side of the most important fights of our time. George W. Bush picked him. Make of that what you will.

Coffee thoughts - New relationships This caught my attention yesterday. Candace you say Erika and you were never friends? You never had a relationship. Interesting. Robinson Ortiz...Atta Baby! Ortiz had a HUGE year this past season, and got rewarded by being placed on the Dodgers' 40-man roster. Ortiz posted an ERA of 2.73, an average against of just .207, and had 72 Ks in 59.1 innings. And ALL of that is great. And, while the "execution" piece is still THE focus, keep in mind, he, in essence, hadn't pitched since 2021, due to Tommy John. Ortiz was a HIGHLY thought of prospect back in 2021, before his Tommy John, and came back to start 2024, but was shut down after just 6 outings and 11 innings in May of 2024. So, for him to be able to post 59.1 innings and have 48 appearances was HUGE in terms of showing that he's BACK. Then, to have the success on top of that, after such a long layoff, just goes to show how good his stuff is. Ortiz features a HUGE sweeping slider that starts well behind the back of a left-hander, and breaks from one side of the earth to the other. Trying to decipher whether that pitch is going to land "in the zone" or not is VERY difficult, even for hitters that have a LOT of MLB experience like he faced at OKC. His fastball is firm, and he can hit 6s and 7s, so those 2 pitches play well off of each other. Welcome aboard, Robinson. It's been a LONG road, one you've navigated successfully. And, the way you always keep the most important person for last, the fact that the apogee of his acceptance speech was about Connor.. he had me sobbing, cause of how completely unguarded and raw Hudson is here. The American pilot flying it, Lt John Kirla, shot down five enemy planes in a single day, becoming an ace in one mission. This footage captures one of his victories over a Bf 109. This is his story.. From Trainee to the Yoxford Boys John Kirla was not a born fighter ace. He was an ordinary young American who had come up through flight training in Texas, graduating at the start of 1944. He learned his trade on trainers, moved up to fighters, and got just 15 hours in the P-51 Mustang before being sent to England as a replacement pilot. He joined the 362nd Fighter Squadron of the 357th Fighter Group, a unit based at Leiston that was already becoming a legend. The 357th was the first group in the Eighth Air Force fully equipped with the Mustang, and it would go on to produce more aces than any other fighter group in the Eighth, including Chuck Yeager and Bud Anderson. Kirla was the newest pilot in a squadron already filled with experienced aces. His job was to escort American bombers deep into Germany and protect them from the Luftwaffe. On November 27 1944, he got the day that would define him. Five Victories in One Mission That morning the 357th ran headlong into a massive swarm of German fighters trying to get at the bombers. Kirla's flight dropped their fuel tanks and dived straight into the middle of it. Almost immediately, the fight became a swirling, low-level brawl of Mustangs, Messerschmitts, and Focke-Wulfs twisting across the sky. ➡️ The ZANU fighter was just defeated by a 60-year old guy. 😌 This guy, Themba Gorimbo, had the support of most Zimbabweans when he entered the UFC, because – what a great achievement and representation for our country! 👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾 🇿🇼 Then, he made the quintessential error that many shallow Zimbabweans who find fame MAKE – he involved himself in regime politics ... because he saw it as a way to make a quick fortune. 💰💰 He started to ride high on ARROGANCE, and use his platform to insult and mock the opposition movement while promoting ED and ZANU PF regularly. He is especially known for stalking Winky D, and posting negative comments and mockeries about him, in order to please his ZANU masters. He thought that if he placed himself on the buttered side 🧈🍞 – the OPPRESSOR’S side - then he would be on the fast track to wealth, freebies and trinkets. 💵 Amateur mistake. When you’re a professional athlete there is no upside to playing politics. 🤷🏾‍♂️ You’ll just alienate many supporters unnecessarily, and attract controversy. You also draw negative attention to yourself internationally. MMA is a global sport and UFC is the pinnacle of the sport. So then he started losing supporters and attracting criticism ... but continued on his arrogant high horse, believing that his commitment to ZANU would pay off. Then when was CHOKED OUT in his last fight and lost consciousness in front of the entire world 😴- he thereafter had a "Damascus moment" when he realized that HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of UFC fans around the world were joyous about his humiliation! 😃 Especially when at one point he enjoyed widespread support and a growing fanbase - even the Rock had given him a house in the early days ... before Gorimbo showed himself to be an arrogant, toxic chump. 🤦🏾‍♂️ Then after being choked out he tried to “CHANGE” and win people over again, and started becoming anti-Zanu, etc. And it has worked for some people, but for a lot of OTHER people, including me (who was initially a HUGE fan), the damage had been done... 🙅🏾‍♂️ I always support Zimbabwean athletes and teams PASSIONATELY 🇿🇼 – but this guy has shown his true colours, and I find him to be unsavoury... He’s someone who tried to use his platform to benefit from the REGIME. He supported OPPRESSION and mocked the suffering of Zimbabweans, and efforts of the opposition. He is NOT a good guy. 😏 He is only now pretending to be in support of the PEOPLE because he has seen how supporting dictators will negatively affect his MMA career. It actually may be too late for him to redeem himself because even on the MMA twitterverse, I see a LOT of people from around the world posting negatively about his arrogance. They are also calling him a SCAMMER because of the library he had said he was building “in his village” and apparently people donated money, but there is ZERO library in existence 🤔- and when he has been pressed to explain he has been saying to critics that he built ¾ of the library and then he had to tear it down for some reason... 👀 I will always view him as a “ZANU fighter” because that’s what he proudly was for a long time, and has now realized his miscalculation ... and trying to pretend to be otherwise.
