Welcome home! 🌎 After spending 45 days confined inside a tiny habitat on a simulated journey to Mars, our HERA crew has “returned” to Earth. The four-member crew conducted a variety of tasks within HERA to help NASA better prepare astronauts for the isolation of deep space.

@NASA Even 45 days can be useful if the right research protocols are instituted. A six month simulation should be planned for the future. I hope that social-scientific data was collected and social scientists are involved with the data analyses. #astrosociology

@NASA Why cannot space and aerospace industry design light weight sandwich carbon composite structure? It makes place for more fuel and payload.

@NASA 45 days to mars? To my knowledge it’s about 6-9 month right know with current technology (starship) How do you get there in 45 days?
