What it really was, was extortion disguised as begging. The moment you reached for your papers, he switched tactics and started begging, because in his mind, papers and license mean bad business for them. If you didn’t have your papers, you’d be the one begging, negotiating how low they could beat the bribe down to. That’s the whole point of their presence out there. Nigeria still has a very long way to go.

One may not be able to change the whole world at once, but the change begins with each of us. I was on a bus & the driver who had extorted his own quota from us was ranting about cost to the lady dispensing fuel. I was like; "From where to where? You never do us your own"?

I have a strict rule. Once you tell me to park, omo nothing for you. Once I park and off engine, you must chop papers. One idiot stopped me recently at Gegu, and asked me to park and informed his colleague to search me. Before he could say anything, I have got my papers ready and went to open my boot. He was then furious saying did he ask me for anything. His that day what that some police officers escorting my friend, stopped to say that I should join them as the Lokoja road is very dangerous.

For d 1st time in history, key pad warriors did not attack Namibia. You know what that means? We all are in denial of what is going on in Nigeria and we all choose to be mute cos a few ppl and their family are benefiting from this government.

If the government pays officers ₦500k monthly, many of these stop and search “begging” will reduce or even stop completely. ₦500k isn’t even big money in this country today, but it’s a good place to start. They beg because their salaries can’t take care of their families

Police disturbing the citizens for money, and pushing their vehicle to start in this big 2026, tells you all about Nigeria. The Nigerian police force is a big joke and at the same time, a danger to the society.
