hi! we just launched SF + LA Tech Week and it’s crazy to say (I know I say this every time) but it really is true - it’s the biggest one yet. we’ve broken more records and now have 1,500+ events, over 2x last year’s launch! SF Tech Week: Oct 6-12 LA Tech Week: Oct 13-19 Register for events here: SF is on fire, on track to be home to the biggest Tech Week. When we first started Tech Week, it was right after COVID, and we saw so many founders relocating outside the Bay Area to cities all over the US. That first year, SF Tech Week was actually the smallest. This year, it’s set to be the largest. We’ve doubled the number of SF events at launch year over year, a clear signal showing just how much the AI wave is fueling the city’s growth. This week Mamoon Hamid and Ilya Fushman of Kleiner Perkins joined Erik Torenberg on Turpentine VC to make the case for the craftsman approach to venture capital, and it's a must-listen. Our top takeaways: 1. KP holds firm in their belief in the craft approach to VC, which isn’t too dissimilar from the approach 30 - 40 years ago. Of course they employ new tools and software that allows them to be better stewards of the capital they manage, but the craft of investing is still at the center of everything they do. Kleiner may never have more than 7 partners: less is more, and one team, one dream. And it all comes from the question of: “how do we make really good decisions?” That means all being based in the Bay Area, having in-person team meetings every Monday, and having those discussions as a team sitting around a table. 2. The team at Kleiner uses “majors and minors” to cover new waves or emerging domains with a small team. Because of their team size, it’s difficult for KP to spin up specialization. So they fall back on having partners with great fundamentals (majors), with the ability to shirt into emergent domains (minors). The minors allow partners to shift into the new trends bubbling up, like crypto, AI, and more. Mamoon and Ilya view their job as making sure they know what the new thing is, and being intentional and deliberate with their decisions to either lean deeper into it, because they believe that’s where real history-making companies will get built, or pass, because they think it’s a fad. 3. The process KP uses to determine how well they’re doing compared to other competing firms. Every Monday, they look at the prior week of Seed, Series A’s, and Series B’s that got done by their peer set. And they ask the following question for each company: “Did we see this one? Or did we not see it?” Then over the course of a quarter, they aggregate that to assess what’s happening on the ground and whether or not they’re seeing what they think are interesting companies in every company they look at. It’s a way of assessing whether or not Kleiner is truly the first, second or third call, or how relevant the firm is to the top companies that are getting funded today. If anyone is, it is Trump. I spent a while looking at predictions put out about his own life planted in the past. Stuff that nobody else found and was able to find matches over and over. Shouldn't have been able to do that. Highly doubt they'd do that so just me personally could find it. I'm also interested in the theory that time travelers occasionally drop knowledge on us and nudge humanity, but nobody knows how they do it, who they are, or what their goals really are. Could be several of them. Could be good and bad. Reality feels rigged, future science is somehow known WAY before it comes out. Like a hundred years before when it was laughable to even say it could ever exist. But it was right. And it all kind of just shows up. Im aware of all the other theories like fall angel tech, old tech, Atlantis etc. Like I said none of us actually know who is dropping it on us or if anyone is. We can theorize and guess, but we really don't know exactly who or how or their motive. Someone out there must know.

REPORT: UK government officials are now drafting a law that would jail tech executives for up to FIVE YEARS if they refuse to build scanners that inspect EVERY photo, video, and message on your phone. Think about that. The claim is keeping children “safe.” But beneath the surface, this has all the hallmarks of a cover story for expanding surveillance. The proposal would force Apple, Google, and other tech giants to make it impossible for a child to send, receive, view, or share a single nude image, with executives who refuse facing up to five years in prison. The children are the headline; surveillance is the product. The new technology to accomplish this is called “client-side scanning.” Watch the video below to see how it works. This threat to jail Big Tech CEOs seems to be a bit of a farce because, let’s be honest, government and Big Tech are best friends. The threat of prison simply gives Big Tech an excuse to say, “Well, we have to comply. We have no choice.” Meanwhile, Microsoft and Apple themselves are reportedly among the companies that helped develop the technology behind client-side scanning. It’s one big club, and we ain’t in it.

That’s when the focus can shift from the ‘tech’ itself to what it really ‘does for us’. Making things 'easy' is often super hard. And that's the benchmark that we want to try and live up to with our products. And that’s the story that we want to tell now. How ALL the tech that we have been building for years in our products, comes together to improve our daily lives on the road. How it makes your rides easy. Here’s the first video on the same. Minnesota is lost because we are more interested in perception and convenience than freedom or victory. Someone asked me at the convention yesterday, “what do you plan to do in the senate, how can you get legislation passed?” My simple answer was “tell the truth”. The U.S. Senate, even with a Republican majority is a joke and we all see it. The only way is to vote every last one of them out, with a handful of exceptions. If we want to keep playing this game where politics is pageantry, we will keep getting the same results. All these candidates with their corny stump speeches, they’re going to cave or sell us out the 1st chance they get and we all know it. Some of us are even counting on it. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna state that some UAPs and the technology is NOT made by mankind. The problem we have is that we give private companies this technology so our own elected officials can't oversee or even know what's really going on. But, some members in our government DO know and have access. How is it ok to give tech, whether created by mankind or not, to private companies so an elite group of people keep full control over it? What if it eliminates the use for gas or oil? Are you starting to understand? Also, do you believe that they wouldn't fully take advantage of this tech in multiple ways? Since we know there is a "non-human" presence, but we don't know exactly what that presence is, do you really believe they wouldn't take advantage of that, or could potentially "pose" as that "presence" and pretend it's a threat to push an agenda? These are the things you need to start asking yourself and understand that, yes, there are many elites sitting on tech and physics that they do NOT want us to have. The million dollar question becomes, "What exactly are we going to do about this, and how do we fix this for all of mankind?"
