It breaks my heart to see these pictures of the once GOLDEN STATE of America, rightfully earned for all of its beauty in nature and its beautiful bridges, its beautiful architecture, both residential and commercial. I know. Moved from Wauconda, Illinois to Huntington Beach, SoCal in 1965 as a young teen. In the 35 years I lived in SoCal, I walked & body surfed its breathtaking beaches and trailblazed its magnificent forests up in Big Sur, always thinking how fortunate I was to live in such a Garden of Eden. I can't forget the beautiful rows upon rows of orange orchards. The gentle breezes would whisk the scent of the oranges miles away to where I lived. Huntington Beach was the love of my life as a place to live in the mid-60's through the early 80's. I was a beach girl who loved to watch the surfers at the Huntington Beach Pier. I lived a quarter mile from the Pier. I loved the old rugged downtown Main Street with the infamous Surf Theatre, the infamous Jack's Surf Shop on the corner of PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and the Golden Bear where many unknowns like Janis Joplin played before becoming a star. On Friday nights the line was always long to get into the concerts. And of course at the Main Street Saloon there were the bikers, the Hessians who came to play pool and have a good time. To say the least, they were a little scary. I loved the old Huntington Beach High School with its beautiful mission-style architecture. The Huntington Beach Oilers became a famous football team. I know. I used to go on Friday nights as an excited spectator cheering on the young men who were part of my beloved schoolmates. Our cheerleaders were tops winning lots of awards. Back then, the surfers were tan, muscular with blond hair or blond highlights. Surfers were a class all their own. Being blonde was the "in thing" back then. We'd put lemon juice on our wet hair after body surfing to make ourselves blonder while we soaked up the rays. I lived for hanging out at the beach. Would do my chores and then head down to the Pier where all the action was spending the entire rest of the day soaking up the rays, enjoying all the people, enjoying the beach scene. I remember when Ronald Reagan was Governor. How we loved our Governor. He was the greatest Governor of California in my lifetime who kept California beautiful and made life beautiful for us. Together it seemed, all us Californians took pride in our Golden State. And now...Gavin Newscum, the scum of the earth governor who has totally thrashed our once beautiful State, allowing the once beautiful Pacific Palisades burn to the ground, and the once beautiful Northern California forest to burn up in flames, all for politics. There is a ray of hope. Huntington Beach citizens are Trump loving MAGA patriots making their voices heard. My heart is still very much a part of Huntington Beach and SoCal - Balboa Island, Corona Del Mar, the beautiful Laguna Beach, Catalina Island. I pray to God He would raise up an army of Trump loving MAGA patriots to take back our beloved California, and with the help of President Trump, Make California Great Again. God Bless California. God bless President Trump. God bless America.
