It would be great if you ended this with an info graphic showing that Provinces are responsible for organizing heath care with the transfers they receive from our federal tax dollars. Doctors dedicate their lives to helping and premiers tie their hands and blindfold them.

For the healthcare workers highly offended: We appreciate all you do and we know this isn’t you. Unfortunately though, this is through the lens of the patient. People are suffering and dying. It’s high time we stopped pretending our healthcare system isn’t in shambles. The target here is the government, provincial and federal.

The only thing missing from this skit was offering each patient MAID before writing a referral.

referral patterns are constant across ER’s + internationally. 10-15% admitted, rest discharged. canada has the best emergency training in the world (though system ++ strained). poor timing for a weary workforce. whoever wrote this only knows ERs from unnecessary visits. for now.

Really disappointed in you @22_Minutes. My own experiences with emergency medicine in Winnipeg has been nothing like this. Compassionate care. Expert diagnosis and treatment. And staff who give everything.

This is so accurate. Glad I’m mandated to pay taxes towards this. I just went to the states and paid 34,000 out of pocket for a major endometriosis surgery since the wait in Canada was outrageously long.. 1-2 years. The wait for a specialist in the States? 3-4 weeks!

I was delivered to Cobequid by Ambulance. Two rounds of X-ray, triage, resident and orthopedic surgeon. 1 hr 26 minutes for full treatment and released. Hip injury. Resolved except time.
