With this expansion, we now have the capacity to offer more ice time, support player development, and better match the facilities available in other surrounding communities. Families can skate outside at no cost, or purchase a pass for access to the refrigerated ice rink. Yorkshire, starting on Friday 11 July, a temporary use ban (TUB), which is a restriction on the use of hosepipes, will come into effect. This will help our region’s reservoir levels recover and protect Yorkshire's water resources throughout the summer months, following one of the driest springs on record and the region being in drought. We've tried everything possible to avoid these restrictions, and despite our customers' help to save water where they can and our efforts to manage water resources, including adding an extra 100 people to our leakage team and upgrading our infrastructure to reduce leaks and bursts, the dry weather and warmer-than-usual temperatures have increased demand. We have supplied an additional 4.3 billion litres of water between April and June compared to a typical year - that's enough to supply Leeds for five weeks. This has left our reservoirs more depleted than expected and lower than average for this time of year. As a result, we’re kindly asking everyone to please put their hosepipes away for a bit. We understand you may have some questions about the restrictions. You can find detailed FAQs, including activities covered by the hosepipe restrictions and who would be exempt from it, on our website at or watch the video below to see how this might affect you. The restrictions will be in place until the region has seen significant rainfall to bring reservoirs and groundwater stocks back to where they need to be. This may last into the winter months, but rest assured, we will lift it as soon as we are able to. Two weeks ago we moved our family from California to Tennessee, and today confirmed everything we hoped for. We watched our new community’s Fourth of July parade and ran the neighborhood 5k this morning, and tonight there’s a fireworks show, all without leaving the neighborhood. The kids on our street already pulled our two boys into their bike club. Neighbors met the moving truck and helped unload before we even arrived. We’re buying meat and cheese from a farm fifteen minutes from our house. We came here for the community, and for a place built for raising a family instead of one that seems to punish you for it. We loved California, but every year felt like paying a tax for having kids, wanting safe streets, and trying to run a small business, even with family nearby to help. Today I’m grateful to live in a country where you can pack up and choose a different life, and where the people who live there actually want you to have it. This country is great, and I’ll never stop being grateful for it.

Today, I led an inspection of the Obalende underbridge and motor park area, where the Lagos State Government has issued an immediate quit notice to squatters occupying the space. This is not a sudden action. Notices were issued as far back as 2024, and we are now moving to redesign the area into a clean, safe, and functional public space. The location will be handed over to a private sector partner for redevelopment and long-term maintenance as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The proposed design includes a motor garage, public toilets, sleeping bays, and electric vehicle charging points. Our objective is to end environmental degradation, remove criminal elements, and ensure that underbridge spaces serve the public in a sustainable way. I also inspected Oja Oba on Lagos Island and the Adeniji–Ilubirin loop as part of our broader effort to put open spaces to proper and productive use across the state. Let me reiterate that our environmental laws on street trading and illegal waste disposal remain fully in force. Lagos must be orderly, safe, and functional for everyone, and we will continue to act firmly and responsibly to achieve this. #CleanerLagos
