But being head of the HAWKS does gives him more power to deal with international syndicates and their local enablers. He will taking corruption head-on. IDAC will report to him. AFU will be at his disposal to go after ANC loot.

Hawks can be disbanded in a jiffy by the way , just like they did with the Scorpions. This is not a promotion .

The President cannot just disband the Hawks by his Executive decision or Cabinet resolution He will need to pass a new Act of Parliament repealing Chapter 6A of the SAPS Act. That requires full Parliamentary process that involves the NA, NCOP and public participation. Promotion? He has been Lieutenant-General for more than 14 years now so he is over qualified. Sometimes let it be about combating high priority crimes which are crippling our country. Now he has special investigative tools. He can trigger NPA Act section 28 powers, to subpoena, search and interrogate without arrest. As a Provincial Commissioner he cannot do that.

The Gen once acted as the National Commissoner before JZ yanked him, confined him at home for a year at the height of the Gupta looting. My only concern is the vacuum his national deployment could create in KZN. I'm certain gangs are celebrating over there.

This is a promotion. Politicians have no permanent friends. Becoming a National Commissioner is not an automatic transition. If they want to sabotage Mkhwanazi they can cut the budget and condemn him to his province. Mkhwanazi is a brilliant career policeman and knows what's on.

I've seen footage of Gnl. N .Mkwanazi inspiring his SAPS members in KZN. I have faith and trust that he and his fellow officers will help save this Beautiful Country and her citizens.
