It is deeply painful that after the great work of transforming our city, some individuals still choose to vandalize and steal government installations within the CBD including dustbins, streetlights, and other metallic infrastructure only to sell them for a few coins to scrap metal dealers. This is unacceptable and undermines the progress we are making as a city. I call upon all city residents to take responsibility and protect what rightfully belongs to them. Public property is not government property alone it is our collective investment and pride. To scrap metal dealers: stop buying stolen scrap metal. You know very well when items are stolen, and anyone found in possession of stolen public property will be treated as a thief and dealt with according to the law. There will be no excuses. A few days ago, I responded to reports of four children who were allegedly being neglected by their parents in Mowlem, Embakasi West. While my team and I were busy rescuing the children and ensuring they were taken to safety, criminals took advantage of the situation, broke into my vehicle, and stole several parts from it. Although I was deeply disappointed by the incident, I chose to share a video to expose the theft and appeal to the public for information that could help bring the perpetrators to justice. Today, I am pleased to report that officers from Pangani Police Station, under the able leadership of their OCS, acted swiftly and professionally. Through their vigilance and commitment to fighting crime, they arrested the suspects when they attempted to sell the stolen vehicle parts. The officers contacted me, and I have since positively identified the recovered parts as those stolen from my vehicle. I wish to sincerely commend the OCS and the entire team at Pangani Police Station for their dedication, professionalism, and quick response. Their excellent work demonstrates that when law enforcement and the public work together, criminals can be brought to justice. Your commitment to protecting wananchi and combating crime is truly appreciated. At the same time, I strongly condemn those involved in this theft. I started digging into the rapid expansion of hyperscale data centers and energy projects in Ohio and what I found raised serious questions about transparency, public oversight, and who these deals are really benefiting. JobsOhio was created in 2011 and funded through the state’s liquor enterprise revenue, billions generated from public assets. Yet it operates as a private nonprofit that is not subject to traditional open-records laws. Today, Ohio is being marketed as “deployment ready” for hyperscale data centers, massive facilities that require constant, industrial-scale electricity and water usage. To support that demand, new energy infrastructure is being proposed across the state, including advanced nuclear projects like Oklo in Pike County. Policy changes like Ohio Senate Bill 52 shifted how energy siting decisions are handled at the local level, while utilities such as American Electric Power have proposed new tariffs and grid upgrades to support the surge in data center demand. Communities across Ohio are raising concerns about farmland loss, water usage, electricity costs, and the lack of early public input before these deals are shaped. Regardless of where you stand on development, one thing should be non-negotiable: Transparency. Accountability. And a real voice for the people of Ohio. Public resources and infrastructure should serve the public first. Decisions that shape our land, our water, and our power grid should not happen behind closed doors. 🚨 Four Suspects Arrested Following Retail Theft, Pursuit, and Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant 🚨 On June 17, 2026, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers assigned to a Criminal Investigations Division (CID) retail theft operation attempted to stop suspects who had committed thefts at multiple retail stores in North Austin. Rather than stop, the suspects fled, leading troopers on a dangerous pursuit. During the pursuit, occupants of the suspect vehicle fired multiple rounds at pursuing troopers while traveling at high speeds, including driving the wrong way on SH 45 Toll. Despite the extreme danger posed by the suspects’ actions, no troopers or members of the public were injured. The pursuit came to an end near FM 620 in Cedar Park when the suspect vehicle crashed. Troopers quickly and safely took all four suspects into custody. A 9mm handgun believed to have been used during the incident was recovered. Three suspects have been charged with Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant (First-Degree Felony), and all four suspects have been charged with Organized Retail Theft ($750–$2,500) (State Jail Felony). The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are pending. The Texas Department of Public Safety is thankful that no innocent motorists or law enforcement personnel were injured during this violent encounter. While the NDP has gone numb to open drug usage, communities are feeling terrorized by public safety risks fueled by the drug crisis. Residents are finding meth pipes on their lawns, dealing with theft, break-ins, public defecation, and threats right outside their homes. This is not some abstract problem. It is the direct result of the NDP’s failed soft-on-crime and harm reduction experiments that have let chaos spread into family neighbourhoods. The NDP’s gross incompetence has turned once stable communities into places where people feel unsafe in their own yards. They keep doubling down on failed policies while ordinary British Columbians pay the price in fear and declining quality of life. Enough is enough. We need a government that actually enforces the law and restores safety instead of making excuses for the drug crisis it helped create.
