They dont actually care about the homeless drug addicts. Especially not in Oregon. They will step over the overdosing, rotting, dying homeless to protest against ICE and stop them from removing the literal drug dealers who keep the homeless addicted. We need to bring back asylums and courts need to put those people in them. Its so obvious what needs to be done but they will spend 500X the money needed to do anything else but what clearly should be done.

I think it should be mandatory for those of them who commit crimes to do this kind of thing but I dont believe we should even wait till they commit crimes. If they are living on the street in filth using drugs that should be enough to declare them mentally incompetent and commit them to a care facility before they have a chance to commit crimes onto society and not just on themselves. By the time they reach these programs, they have already harmed society to get there. They should have been forced to buy the lloyd center and turn it into a state mental health hospital

Just to put it in perspective, Oregon has spent well over 7Bn on addiction + homelessness in the last 5 years but big pink in portland sold for 45 million, the lloyd center anchor section sold for 9 million. Either of those would have sufficed to make a huge dent in the problem every year as hospitals.

Explained to my partner, loved ones the whole industrial complex they have going in the state and that donations would be used more efficiently at a local food closet at the church.

As a recovering drug addict I can personally say that not all of us chose that life willingly and it’s not so easy to leave that life. I hope you never have to understand what that life is like.

We already have the answer to the homeless problem. They just won’t use it and instead continue to launder the money they receive. Watch this one hour documentary, it will be the best thing you’ve watched regarding the homeless crisis. Not only does it show you the problem but it also shows you the solution and the solution, I think in Rhode Island is where it happens, the success rate is over 90%. I don’t recall the exact number, but if it’s not addressed, it’s more cruel to leave these people drug addicted, and homeless.
