I would hazard a guess that humans have injured and killed thousands of Orcas with propellers and rudders over the centuries, not to mention outright attacking them. Orcas are certainly intelligent creatures and I'm surprised it took this long for them to catch on and fight back.

Well, it is their ocean, their home. Humans don't respect that a lot of the time. They're entitled to defend themselves if that's what they are doing.
