There is no more need in trying to prove it’s a black swan event. The question is, what will be done about it. Every commercial ship has liability insurance to cover collision. Why is it that the taxpayer is on the hook for this one? Because no one wants the insurance companies doing any investigating and snooping around. That just seems to make sense to me.

That ship was "rolling coal", just after lights out, so you wouldn't notice, just before striking pier. Where are operators, and harbor pilot ? McConnell's recently deceased sister in law was affiliated with shipping company? Black boxes weren't recording? No $$$ to rebuild ?

Not only that, there is also a way to recover steering even if the backup generator does not function from a space called aft-steering, the ship's secondary steering mechanism with full steering controls and communication lines to the bridge and engineering. No ship should ever enter or leave port without this space manned and ready and tug escort until the ship is out of the harbor when leaving or docked when entering. This should never have happened and it is the fault of the shipping company and the Port of Baltimore authorities.

What is obvious is that the protection for the base of the bridge was not enough. So, tugs should have escorted the ship past the bridge, or anything else that is critical. A better policy should be developed to protect critical infrastructure from accidents or acts of sabotage.

If you are in a large moving boat with rudders, and the power goes out, wouldn’t the boat maintain course? There was a huge amount of space between supports. Why were they so close to start with? Aren’t black boxes designed to work with back up power? 🧐🧐

You get too close to the sun, your wings melt and you fall out. It's not the end of the free world as we know it. I actually think these two men will get back together again. I know it's salacious, it's really an interesting story, but at the end of the day they both have attributes that the other wants. Elon is a unique individual and Trump is a unique individual. They both have huge egos. They had a bad date. It's like a marriage and they're having a fight. I'm over it already. I think this is noise frankly. I don't think it really matters long-term. They can call each other on their cell phones and work it out and they will.

But they can’t run away from the real and serious issues for too long. No matter how evasive they remain, we would always come back to discuss the real and Serious issues. Nurses and teachers who were promised automatic postings are still at home with no assurances. About 35,000 young Ghanaians have been made unemployed under 12 months. Whiles inflation and cedi improves, they cancel it out with increase in utility tariffs by about 28% which affects production and ultimately passed unto consumers They artificially manipulate our currency, creating instability and inconsistencies to enable businesses plan and that explains why consumers are not feeling the impact Galamsey was a major campaign topic, they made specific promises of what they would do to deal with Galamsey. Today, Galamsey has worsened, NDC officials and government officials are accused by several citizens on their involvement in Galamsey. Our water bodies in 12 months are being destroyed at an unprecedented rate. They promised 24 hours economy and yet cannot show how they would even implement this.
