sad. I was a waiter - this sucks for hard-working people. They should be ashamed. All of them are on camera and should be prosecuted.

Evidently a family member one of the “diners” paid the bill in full and so the manager decided to not press charges. Bet no tip was included. They should have pressed charges and held them accountable.

How to ruin a high trust society, it’s going to be payment prior to ordering.

And you can see how happy they are to do it, too. Absolutely incompatible with civilization.

If I had a $420 bill I would leave a $69 tip.

This is a true story: In 1997 I was a bartender in NYC at the South Street Seaport. A table of 18 people is sat inside, and they order plenty of food and multiple rounds of drinks. It’s a Friday night and the restaurant is jamming. Eventually their waitress approaches me in tears and informs me that ALL 18 PEOPLE left without paying the bill. I was shocked the server didn’t realize what was happening until it was too late. As I was looking over the mess they left, I noticed a cellphone sitting on one of the chairs. If you’re old enough you know how expensive and rare mobile phones were even back then. I immediately took the phone behind the bar and instructed the waitress to send the owner to me when they inevitably returned. 10 minutes later a guy dressed like Flavor Flav approached the bar asking about the phone. I held the phone up and said “this phone?” “Yo man that’s my phone” I then took out their unpaid bill and said “That’ll be $1,250” ( including a generous tip of course😎) He knew he was beat, so he ran outside and immediately collected the cash from his crew, paid the bill and walked out with his phone. I tell that story for all the hard working service people who’ve ever been screwed over by filthy thieves.
