@anilkseth Fascinating perspective! Definitely puts a new spin on the concept of reality. Will check out the TED Talk for a deeper dive.

@anilkseth Active inference which is arguably the best scientific model of the brain has the same hypothesis about its functioning @InferenceActive

@anilkseth Yeah sure. I just hallucinated this phone I'm holding in my hand. And I always hallucinate the fact that people hold and touch things exactly the same way I do. Or hit the same wall, or step on the same stone. Pure hallucination... Smoking weed doesn't make you deep...

@Retlouping @anilkseth I believe pain can be hallucinated. I also believe pain can be a learned response. I also believe my clients when they tell me they're in pain. Like the old saw "Of course God is real, he just doesn't exist!", what is not "real" can be having a very real effect in our lives.

@anilkseth huh? isn't hallucinations only when we experience senses without any external input? It's like if your computer was only doing write commands instead of doing reads and writes.

@anilkseth So.. what you perceive depends entirely on the informational transfer function of the LGN/PGN/MGN as first educated relays of reality, I therefore deduce these areas of primary importance for reasons I can engage in.

@anilkseth Hallucinate or recreate? The latter is the basis of survival

@anilkseth TED talks are such overhyped, slick produced hype bullshit.
