🌍 Empowering Somalia’s Renewable Energy Future! ☀️ The Somali Green Energy Association (SOGEA) recently hosted a transformative Solar PV Installation Workshop in Mogadishu — and the response was extraordinary! We planned for just 30 participants, but nearly 500 applications poured in from enthusiastic university graduates in Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, and Business — a testament to the growing interest in clean energy careers. This overwhelming interest highlights two key realities: ✅ A critical skills gap in Somalia’s renewable energy sector ✅ A rising enthusiasm among youth and women to drive change After a competitive selection process, 30 finalists (17 males, 13 females) were trained to install 500W standalone off-grid solar systems. This hands-on experience gave them essential technical skills, increasing their job readiness and capacity to scale clean energy solutions across Somalia. We are especially proud of participants like Jawahir, an electrical engineer, who shared how this training boosted her confidence and opened new doors in a field where women are still underrepresented. The path forward is clear: 🔹 Scale technical training, especially for youth and women 🔹 Strengthen support for solar system design, clean cooking, and off-grid solutions 🔹 Mobilize investment to reduce unemployment and power local economies At SOGEA, we’re committed to growing Somalia’s green workforce. We’re actively seeking partnerships and sponsorships to expand this initiative and make renewable energy accessible, affordable, and sustainable for all. Let’s invest in a cleaner, brighter, and more inclusive future for Somalia! #RenewableEnergy #SolarEnergy #CapacityBuilding #WomenInEnergy #YouthEmpowerment #GreenJobs #Somalia #SOGEA GOGLA Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) Modern Energy Cooking Services Global Solar Council (GSC) Alliance for Rural Electrification UN Environment Programme in Africa UNDP Somalia Power Africa Aato Harun Maruf Lt. It has been about 45 days since I was laid off at my 6 figure gamedev/engineering job. Here's what I've accomplished since going full time indie gamedev. - Happiness is at all time highs.. The creative excitement I've felt everyday has been amazing! For about 15 days I kind of dabbled around different areas to figure out what I wanted to work on and sink myself into. - I dabbled with VFX authoring in Three.js - I built the basis of an MMO engine in Rust Language and rendered it in Three.js I then decided I wanted to focus on something realistic and get a game out the door that could turn me from wanting to be a full time indie gamedev, to actually doing it, because realistically none of those projects are going to make me a living. I settled on building a Roblox game because I felt I like I could make something pretty unique and cool with a built in userbase. I chose roblox because it has a good platform of discovery for new games, which I think is pretty crucial for indie devs. - I then ported Plume my threejs library for Niagra like VFX to Roblox. - completed the full gameloop for my roblox game. What's featured in the video - Several menu types for kind of figuring out the direction and some placeholder menus - Cross server guilds/parties/queing - Itemization - Loot Tables - Inventory - Character Equipment - Item Upgrading/Leveling - Some interaction polishing - 1 Completed class with actions, unique boss drops, vfx/sfx - Boss State Machines / Encounter Systems - 1 Boss encounter - Everything is server authorative to prevent cheating. - Sound system Over the next 45 days my focus is on finish the last of the systems that will make up the game(solo quest/mission(story) content, monster codex, move raid board/social from the isolated menu you see in the video to the newer full screen menus, leaderboards. Once those systems are complete it will be time to then focus on just creating content so hopefully a few of you out there will come join and play! If any of this looks interesting or you want to follow the journey of trying to make it as a solo indie developer, follow along! #gamedev #indiedev #robloxdev

📜💧 NEW SONG: “Mud & Mercy (Lourdes)” — God put a spring in the dirt (and hope in the place you’d least expect). Feb 11 is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, and the story is as Catholic as it gets: a poor, overlooked teenage girl (St. Bernadette), a rocky grotto outside town, a Lady who doesn’t flatter the powerful… and a call to prayer, penance, and the Rosary. And then the detail that makes everyone roll their eyes—until it doesn’t: “Go drink and wash.” So Bernadette scratches at the ground, gets mud, drinks it… people mock… and a spring begins to flow. Lourdes isn’t a vibe. It’s a reminder: God loves to meet us where we’re low, where we’re hurting, where we’re unimpressive—then He makes something clean and living come out of it anyway. 🎶 “Mud & Mercy (Lourdes)” — a track for anyone who needs hope, anyone carrying suffering, and anyone who’s forgotten that grace doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. #Catholic #OurLadyOfLourdes #Lourdes #CatholicMusic #PetersBarque #Marian #Rosary #CatholicFaith #WorldDayoftheSick 🔗 FOLLOW PETER’S BARQUE Website: X: Instagram: TikTok: Facebook: YouTube: Rumble: 🎧 LISTEN Apple Music: Spotify: ☕ SUPPORT Ko-fi: Just a reminder: I’m not a musician—I’m a catechist trying my best to teach the faith with the tools I have. I’ve been teaching the faith and apologetics (and OCIA) for 20+ years, so the words and heart are mine, but the music is digitally created and the art is AI-generated.

We were told to accept our society how it is… But we never learned how some “truths” came about As it turns out, our world has been shaped by forces looking to make a profit With zero care about what is the best for us and our health And some even with darker intentions than profit alone People assume that in the modern world over time we have seen all the available data... … and then come to the best and most truthful conclusions not knowing that our whole world has been shaped by other forces The best way to be healthy is to educate yourself about those forces And see where they have shaped our environments, our food supply, our clothes, our health systems and more See where the control systems lie, so you can step outside of them Think critically, and ask questions. Do your own research, and understand WHY your doctor may recommend something. Is It because he’s receiving a kickback on the medication sales? Maybe you should ask "Why am I eating this?" Could it be because 50 years ago a falsified study was done to promote a product that wasn’t actually healthy, but needed new customers? If you are curious then you should always be pursuing the truth And the facts of the matter are that anyone who pursues the truth begins to see the cracks So if you’re someone who has done that, and got this far with their head intact Who has been able to become conscious to the ways of the world Then congratulations to you my friend We’re on the same page.

LARGE NUMBERS OF Americans harshly criticized China’s re-usable booster rocket on social media, saying that the US had already achieved similar feats. They are missing the point. The world took such an interest in China’s achievement not because they claimed to be first--they did not--but because a nation from a poor part of the world successfully did what the world’s wealthiest country had done. Remember, China had the same GDP as India as recently as 1986. It’s not specific achievements, but the speed and velocity of China’s rise that is terrifying the US political-media establishment. And that’s why the US is heavily arming Japan, Taiwan, Australia and a dozen other places to stand by to attack China. . COMPARE PROGRESS The missing context of the reports is this: The US, European nations, and New Zealand are ALL actively working on creating reusable rockets of one kind or another. For an Asian nation to zoom to second place is notable. What the Chinese did this week was to fire a rocket into space and successfully land an orbital booster at sea, for reuse. In achieving this, it can be said that China’s Long March 10B rocket is following in the footsteps of the US. Other rockets which have done this are Falcon 9 in 2015 (by SpaceX, helmed by Elon Musk) and New Glenn in 2025 (by Blue Origin, a Jeff Bezos project). . AHEAD OF EUROPE Yet the Chinese did not demonstrate a copy of those systems, but a unique set-up of their own, with the rocket guided down into a floating landing pad while firing retro-boosters. By achieving this feat, the Chinese have overtaken other rich countries, confirming the velocity of China’s rise. Europe’s Ariane Group has been working with the European Space Agency on a reusable rocket stage called Themis. A New Zealand-US project called Rocket Lab has fired boosters, and then parachuted them into the ocean, so parts can be reused on later launches. China has apparently overtaken both projects. . NEXT: SCI-FI ROCKETS It is worth noting that the Chinese are testing multiple systems—so they are also deploying systems where a rocket flies straight up and then returns to earth, intact, to land upright, in the style which has been seen for a half a century in sci-fi movies. Active Chinese companies in this area include LandSpace, Space Epoch, Deep Blue Aerospace and Galactic Energy. So China can say to its American critics: “Yes, you were first. But we’re happy to be making remarkable progress in this area.” Yet the elite in the US will think differently. Their attitude is more likely to be something like this: “Hey, we may be number one now, but at the rate they are going, we’re gonna be eating their dust. How can we Tonya them?” .

Glen Beck is another podcaster that is right far more than he's wrong. I told you this Housing Bill was a scam, and so it is. The following research went out to my subscribers first, as they deserve some perks for supporting me, but now it's time for you all to see the truth: 🚨The "bipartisan" housing bill is another masterclass in missing the point. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act just passed the House 358-32 (Senate passed it earlier). 32 Republicans actually voted NO and stood against this watered-down garbage. Here’s what the bill SAYS vs what it actually means (10 points): 1. What it says: “We’re investing $200 million in an Innovation Fund to boost housing supply!” 😡What it actually means: Thanks to Rashida Tlaib’s amendment, we’re dumping more taxpayer money into dense subsidized housing projects that frequently become crime magnets and tanks nearby property values. 2. What it says: “We’re cracking down on big investors buying up single-family homes!” 😡What it actually means: Only American institutional investors who already own 350+ homes are restricted. Foreign buyers (especially from China and other countries) can still purchase American homes with zero limits. 3. What it says: “We’re streamlining regulations and cutting red tape to build more homes faster!” 😡What it actually means: Minor NEPA tweaks and some grants, while local zoning and NIMBY rules (the real barriers) stay mostly untouched. Plus new federal “incentives” that pressure localities into more government control. 4. What it says: “We’re helping tenants with counseling and support services!” 😡What it actually means: Funding special counselors and hotlines to help problem tenants fight or delay lawful evictions, making it even harder for landlords to remove bad actors. 5. What it says: “We’re modernizing and reauthorizing key HUD programs!” 😡What it actually means: Expanding and reauthorizing the same bloated, failed HUD bureaucracy that’s been mismanaging housing policy for decades. 6. What it says: “We’re protecting housing stability and access!” 😡What it actually means: Lingering tenant protections and extensions keep elements of the old COVID-era eviction environment alive, shielding deadbeats instead of prioritizing responsible landlords and paying tenants. 7. What it says: (Absolutely silent on illegals still qualifying for housing which is a main driver of the problem) 😡What it actually means: Housing benefits and assistance can still flow to illegal immigrants, increasing demand and driving up costs for American citizens. 8. What it says: (Silent on Sanctuary cities) 😡What it actually means: Sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement still get full access to federal housing-related funding. No cuts, no accountability. 9. What it says: “This will increase housing supply and lower costs for families!” 😡What it actually means: It does almost nothing to address the massive surge in demand from record illegal immigration while only nibbling at supply-side barriers. Real relief requires both more building and securing the border. 10. What it says: “Bipartisan victory for housing affordability!” 😡What it actually means: Classic “bipartisan” = Republicans and Democrats agreeing to do something that sounds nice but changes very little for working Americans because they think we're stupid. Are they right? ✅Foreign buyers welcome ✅Bad tenants protected ✅Bureaucracy expanded ✅Citizens ignored This bill was sold as a big win. It’s mostly theater. The 32 Republicans who voted NO saw through it. The rest just wanted something to brag about before midterms. Homes should be for American families, not foreign investors, not government-subsidized experiments, and not endless bureaucracy. We need real solutions, not more of the same failed policies wrapped in bipartisan wrapping paper. 💫Give Glenn Beck a follow because he's one of the good ones! KAMPALA MUST LEARN TO TAKE A SHOWER. WITH SOAP! Last Friday, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) cleared the clutter and suddenly -my God -there were trees. Trees! Apparently they had been planted years ago, but like disciplined children in a noisy classroom, they were drowned out by kiosks, bodas, and the choreography of downtown chaos. However, the palm trees lost their lives. Many uprooted. Then someone asked the obvious question: “But why are the roads still brown?” Simple. Enfufu. Dust. Dirt. Mud. A city that wipes its face but hasn’t bathed. Let me take you back to 2005. We were shooting an MTN Uganda TV commercial -"Everywhere You Go" -with a South African crew, Red Pepper Films. Proper kit. Light meters. Cloud readers. Precision. On Colville Street behind Christ the King, they cordoned off the road and did the unthinkable: they washed it. Water. Soap. Brushes. The whole road bathed like it was going for Mass. You should have seen the dirt that came off a road we thought was “clean.” That day taught me something. #Kampala often looks clean -from a distance. From a high-angle drone shot. At night. But zoom in and you see the brown truth settling like a stubborn film. KCCA Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki took a bold first step. The ungazetted kiosks gone. Some boda stages reorganized. Good. But bathing is not splashing water on your face. It is systemic hygiene. Wetting. Soaping. Scrubbing. Drains unclogged. Dust suppressed. Specialized sweepers humming daily. Not ceremonial cleaning -consistent cleaning. In Kigali, when oil spills, they literally soap the road. Scrub it. As if the street itself has dignity. Add Umuganda - the monthly community clean-up - and cleanliness becomes culture, not instruction. It is institutional hygiene. Laws alone won’t save Kampala. Behaviour will. The driver who throws a maize cob out the window and later blames KCCA for the pile. The pedestrian who litters then complains about flooding. The vendor who rejects a market stall in Wandegs, New Ntinda or Nakawa but prefers a makeshift kiosk in the drainage path. Kampala cannot be “anti-water.” We outgrew that label in boarding school. Clean cities are not accidents. They are systems. Shared pride, earned in deed, not speeches. Now that we see trees again, let’s also learn to walk properly. Right side going. Left side coming. Like red ants -siafus -precise, purposeful. No bumping, no wandering across grass we just cleared. Why does Kampala look brown? Because it hasn’t bathed enough. It's about time it did. The solution is not cosmetic. It is commitment. Kampala si bizimbe only. It must be showered. Regularly. Thoroughly. And with intention. Last word: I pray the Uganda Revenue Authority "Tax Payer Support Center" white container by the roadside, (and other similar road side containers) are removed. Electric poles washed/cleaned/painted. Only then will the Pearl stop looking dusty -and start looking deliberately clean. Yoshua Bengio just warned that AI is creating a new colonialism. Most countries won’t realize they’re the colony until it’s already permanent. Bengio: “If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.” The godfather of AI, a Turing Award winner, standing at a global summit and warning that the default trajectory of this technology is not shared prosperity. It’s extraction. Bengio: “AI is going to be transforming our world very clearly. It’s going to have global effects.” Power relationships are already shifting. Wealth is already concentrating. The countries building the models, owning the chips, and writing the governance frameworks are not the countries that will bear the worst consequences if it goes wrong. That asymmetry is the problem Bengio is trying to name. Bengio: “We need to work in a multidisciplinary way so that we can foresee those effects.” He’s personally very concerned that without proactive global governance, the gap between dominant AI powers and developing nations widens into something that looks less like technological progress and more like a second colonial era. Not soldiers and trade routes this time. Models and infrastructure and data dependencies that developing nations didn’t build and can’t control. The Global South isn’t being invited to shape the systems that will reshape their economies, their labor markets, their governments. They’re being handed the output and told to adapt. That’s not partnership. That’s the menu. Bengio’s answer is structural. Researchers, policymakers, and leaders from developing nations involved before the architecture hardens. Not consulted after. The window for that is open now. It closes when the systems are deployed at scale and the power relationships they encode become too entrenched to renegotiate. Countries with AI infrastructure write the rules. Countries without follow or disappear. “Everyone at the table” assumes there’s a table. There isn’t. There’s deployment happening right now by entities that don’t need permission or consensus. By the time the governance discussion happens, the systems are operational and the power concentration is accomplished fact. International cooperation through the UN assumes the UN has leverage over nations and companies racing to deploy. It doesn’t. Never did. Definitely doesn’t now when first-mover advantage means everything. The Global South isn’t being offered a seat at the table. They’re being offered advisory roles in systems designed without them, deployed without them, controlled without them. And calling that cooperation while it happens. The most powerful technology ever built is being governed by the people who built it for the benefit of the people who can afford it. Bengio is asking whether that’s the world we’re choosing. Or just the one we’re defaulting into because nobody stopped to ask the question.

Imagine this for a second. Everywhere you go, everything you do there’s a digital version of you quietly following along. Not just your name or your date of birth, but your habits, your movements, what you buy, where you travel, even who you spend time with. Now, we’re being told it’s a good idea to bundle all of that into a single digital ID. Sounds convenient, right? But convenience has a cost and it’s usually paid in control. Think of a digital ID like putting all your keys your house key, your car key, your office key onto one single keycard. Lose it, and you’re locked out of everything. But worse than losing it is someone else getting hold of it. One breach, one hack, one system failure… and suddenly your entire identity isn’t just expose it’s vulnerable. Now imagine that system isn’t just used to prove who you are, but also to decide what you can do. Maybe it starts small. You need it to access services, to travel, to work. Fair enough. But over time, it can quietly become a gatekeeper. If something goes wrong an error, a disagreement, even a false flag you could find yourself locked out of basic parts of life, with no easy way to fix it. And here’s the thing people don’t always realise: once a system like that is built, it doesn’t stay limited. It expands. New features get added. New rules come in. What starts as “optional” can quickly become unavoidable. It’s not about being paranoid it’s about understanding human systems. Power tends to grow, not shrink. In everyday terms, scrapping digital ID isn’t about rejecting technology. It’s about keeping balance. It’s about making sure no single system has too much control over who you are and what you’re allowed to do. Because your identity isn’t just data. It’s yours. And once you hand over the keys completely, it’s very hard to get them back. Richie Taylor Scrap Digital ID Sat 25 April 2pm The Senedd Cardiff And London Belfast Edinburgh #notodigitalid #together

10 days ago, we introduced Splash the Pot to AoF games to test the feature and gather initial input from players. Since then, we’ve been closely monitoring how it performs and how you interact with it and we got a lot of good feedback. Today, we’re ready to move into the next phase with the introduction of new Infused Splash Pots. 💰 CoinPoker will be adding $500,000 extra per week directly into Splash the Pot. This builds on top of the existing system and turns it into a true rewards layer within the game. For context, Splash the Pot works by triggering random drops directly into active hands. These drops come from a shared splash pool built through gameplay, where 100% of the pool of any splash contribution is returned to players. CoinPoker does not take any cut of it. With the addition of infusion, the system is no longer only driven by player contributions. CoinPoker is adding extra funds on top of the existing pool, so splashes now carry additional value that comes directly from us, and its a net positive for the players. In practice, this leads to bigger rewards appearing directly in-game, including Mega Splashes that can reach up to 1000 big blinds. Players can follow splash activity, pool performance, and results directly in the client at any time, with clear visibility into how the system is running. To make the system more balanced across the table, each splash will be split between the pot winner and the rest of the players involved. We’ve tested different ways to structure this split internally, but what percentage should go to the winner versus the rest of the table is something we want to shape together with the community. We’ve set up a poll in the first comment. We’d really appreciate your input. Your feedback is a key part of how we build and improve our rewards systems, and we’ll continue shaping this together with players. Thank you again for your continued support. The CoinPoker Team
