We're deeply saddened by professor Daniel Dennett's passing. We recently had the privilege of interviewing Dennett for our Legends series. It is with heavy hearts we share his video to further spread his wisdom and legacy 🖤

I really love the quality of the BigThink publication! For MSM its articles are so amazing and my favorites of the science publications especially about the universe. I am thankful to BigThink for sharing this video for everyone and to know Dennett. The video was beautifully composed- especially the part about defining memes, but how Ai itself is like a meme; challenging our need to understand how important truth really is, maybe like life, that it is something extraordinary and precious from which the universe exists but that it can help provide a better quality of consciousness for us to be able to sense truth. Like to have a sense of truth about the universe as to our existence and know we are part of it too, seems cosmically just, and beautiful I think. 🌟🌌🕊️

I disagree in the end of how to address machine generated memes, but the rest I love. Let's not forget Daniel Dennett's ideas! Thanks for getting them out there, @bigthink!
