This is the fastest text-to-speech and speech-to-text API out there. It's under 250 ms to first-byte latency. That's what we need to deploy conversational AI applications everywhere! (I can't wait for the death of automated voice machines.) Look at the attached video. For the first time, I could have a conversation with an AI agent in real time without awkward pauses. This technology is Aura from Deepgram. It's the fastest text-to-speech option I've seen. Here is a GitHub repository with the demo in the video: You can use it to build a conversational AI application using natural voice. You'll need a Deepgram API Key and an OpenAI API Key. The project is now valued at up to $120 million for the first phase, significantly above the previously reported $70 million. The facility is designed to scale up to 35 MW of computing capacity and is considered supercomputing-class infrastructure. According to the company, Armenia has the potential to become a new global hub for #AI computing — an alternative location to the United States and Western #Europe. Among the advantages cited are lower energy costs, the availability of technical talent, and the region’s growing international connectivity. Eleveight AI CEO Arman Aleksanyan stated that the goal of the project is to transform Armenia from a consumer of AI into a country where AI is developed, trained, and deployed. The company is also considering future expansion into #CentralAsia'n and European markets. Twenty percent of the center’s computing capacity will be provided free of charge to Armenian universities, research institutions, and non-profit organizations. We’re excited to introduce Taste Labs. Our mission is to end AI slop. We’re building the data and infrastructure layer to give AI models and agents taste. And today we’re coming out of stealth, announcing our $18.5M seed funding, co-led by CRV and Amplify Partners AI has nailed objective domains and made it easy to generate anything. But it still feels off. Now, the challenge is judgement. What fits, what feels like you, what’s GREAT. This requires turning a fuzzy, subjective domain into something we can measure and codify. We’re starting with design. There are two sides to cracking this, the foundation model layer and the agent layer: - We’ve already been working with the top frontier labs to evaluate and improve their models, crafting the right post-training data and RL environments. - We’ve also been working with app-layer companies to build the context and verification tools for their agents to produce better, more on-brand, more creative outputs.
