We’re exploring a new "Simple Mode" It’s intended to make complex workflows easier to share and iterate on, with the focus on results rather than the underlying node graph, especially for users who find large graphs overwhelming. We’d love to hear your thoughts. How would you use this feature?

Simplicity the ultimate sophistication Start simple, then dig in.

Correct approach: let people choose between simple and advanced. Yet, interface complexity is not enough; there needs to be a way to deal with dependency conflicts, LLM-assisted custom node creation/suggestion, and vast docs and a glossary for everything. You guys seriously need to consider having your own free chatbot, armed with a serious amount of internal knowledge base, to help people with errors, suggestions, workflows, and even discussions. Workflow sharing makes inexperienced people want to try something cool they saw, then they give up or get frustrated with common issues like CUDA–PyTorch mismatches or tensor size mismatches. They try to solve these with ChatGPT, and most of the time their already working system breaks, or they simply can’t solve the issue. As a well seasoned product manager, I know dealing with product improvement is very hard while trying to keep up with almost weekly model releases and the community’s unending requests and complaints. You need to work as at least two teams, with one team solving the problems I’m mentioning. I know how hard you guys are working. I’m part of the community and a dedicated user since the first release. I spend at least 2–3 hours every day just for fun and self improvement, and I know how dedicated a team of people you are. You’ve got this.

lol so much sass in this thread. I think a simple mode is great. Ex: for client work, sharing WIP workflows can help show progress / improve collaboration. But the abstraction feels a little out of line with ComfyUI. This UI feels like the “zoomed-out” view, rather than a different mode.

Good progress; not far from mass adoption. Next: native mobile optimization for ComfyUI Cloud.

It's like getting access to Automatic1111 with the power of comfyui, nice I like it.

If simplicity is a goal, then I beg you to please put the cancel queue square icon button back where it used to be. Just because you introduced a new, more complex way to do it, doesn't mean you have to remove the old simple way.

This is the way. Lots of non technical users will give Comfy a try with this.

Definitely something that is needed for ppl to get onboarded. Another major factor that prevents users from gettign on is the ease of installation. Yes, the one click install is much better these days than before - but surely there is more that can be done.

Nice. It would also be great if “Normal Mode” somehow made it easier to add custom nodes, like Loras. Maybe prewired empty nodes in the templates.

I do not mind getting to know the details so that I get the results I aim for.

Is there a good 'getting started' tutorial(s) for ComfyUI? I've deployed it and have tried workflows but tbh I don't always understand what nodes are doing or why they need certain things. I don't know how to be creative with it yet other than typing unique prompts. Help?

Nexus mods has a program called Vortex that allowed you to install and manage mods. It would even tell you mods that were incompatible with each other before launching the game. I wonder if that similar approach could be made when installing plugins - like a simple pop up when selecting a plugin from the store would give you the option to select the additional ones that need to also be installed.

it is truly something seeing this remembering the early days and the initial selling points of using comfy over a tool like A1111 and the benefits of less abstraction. do you think comfy is better now than it was then? there's certainly more there, but it's horizontal.

Feels more like a zoomed out view. Here is an inspiration you can take from GenVR workflow designer's simple mode.

Maybe name and make it more like a UI mode? That way it can be simple, but with a broader use and focus on usability on top of functionality.

This is great. I want to build a workflow once and then never touch it again. I hope this is included in comfy cloud, would be nice to build on desktop and then access the simplified version on mobile.
