You can see something 10,000 times on your phone, but never understand it until you see it in person for the first time. That’s the lesson from the park bench scene in Good Will Hunting. Matt Damon is the arrogant, book-smart intellectual who’s seen little but read everything. Robin Williams is the wise professor who rolls his eyes at Damon’s hubris. The stuff of life can only be fully absorbed through direct experience, he says. This is one reason why school falls short. It conflates regurgitation for understanding. Or, take entrepreneurship, where certain kinds of wisdom can only be gained in the trenches of a sales call or when you have to fire the executive you swore was going to save your company. Something about the life of Moses can only be understood when you stand atop Mount Nebo (where he died) and look down at the Promised Land of Israel. Wonderful and very friendly atmosphere at Selhurst Park Crystal Palace F.C. yesterday for the final game of the season. Wonderful to see Ebere back at the ground where he got a wonderful reception. Congratulations to Arsenal on lifting the trophy for the first time in 22 years. However, I do have an idea for the Premier League …. As Palace season ticket holders we were told under no circumstances were we to swap our tickets and let Arsenal fans have them. Indeed, if we were found to have done that we would be denied season tickets for next year. Completely understandable as I’m sure there were safety concerns. Not surprising though that we were actually surrounded by Arsenal fans pretending to be Palace fans by either wearing Palace shirts or plain white tops for the match only to take them off and replace them with Arsenal shirts they had in their pockets at the end of the game! Now I’m not complaining about what the fans did at all. They were wonderful, friendly and even joined in on “Glad All Over” and applauded the Palace team, players and Oliver Glasner at the end of the game. We got lots of “Good luck in Leipzig” wishes from them too. It was a really friendly atmosphere. But I completely understand their frustration at how hard it was to get tickets for many who were lifelong Arsenal supporters. Chatting with them they said that 2400 seats available for sale. 1200 kept by Arsenal for themselves so only 1200 seats available for the match where they were going to be presented with the trophy. No wonder lots of fans did all they could to get tickets any way possible. So here is a suggestion for the Premier League for next season when working out the fixtures….. Realistically there are probably only 4 or 5 teams who will possibly win the league next year. So why not make sure all those teams have a home game as their final game of the season? In that way the tens of thousands of supporters who go to every home game will have the opportunity to see their team lift the trophy and actually be there rather than having to watch it later on TV? Surely that can’t be too difficult to arrange and if all the potential winners have a home game as their final match there is no unfair advantage towards any of those sides? What do you think? “In her first public appearance since her indictment was dismissed, Attorney General Letitia James was thankful. “The two most powerful words are thank you, and so this morning we say thank you,” she said. Her words of gratitude were fitting for the Thanksgiving holiday. “Thank you, Lord, for all that you have done for me. That’s what I sang this morning when I woke up,” she said. James made the comments during the National Action Network’s Thanksgiving feast. Rev. Al Sharpton’s annual event also included visits from Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani and filmmaker Spike Lee this year. Sharpton praised Mamdani’s recent meeting with President Donald Trump. “We elected him to be the mayor, not to be the activist,” Sharpton said. “Yes, he should’ve met with Trump because we need city services. If Trump wants to act up, let him act up. Our mayor needs to be the mayor and meet with anybody that will help us.” The group served warm meals and friendly smiles to the local Harlem community, many of whom were lined up for the holiday. Mamdani used the event to talk about the key subject of his future administration: affordability. “In a little more than a month, City Hall will focus its power on a mission that for too long has escaped its attention: making a dignified, affordable life in New York a reality for everyone who calls this city their home,” he said. Police escort pro-Hamas marchers into Tim Hortons while Jewish protesters shut out Several of the pro-Hamas crowd, along with a police escort, marched down the street to a local Tim Hortons. Jewish demonstrators were barred from the building as long as they were inside. Rebel News reporter Scarlett Grace reports from the intersection of Bathurst and Sheppard, where the Jewish community in Toronto continues week after week to face harassment by a crowd that openly supports terrorism — a violation of Canada’s criminal code. The pro-Hamas demonstrators have gathered in larger numbers this week, largely at the behest of activist Firas Al-Najim — an open supporter of the IRGC. Over the weekend, Liberal MP Salma Zahid faced backlash after taking a photo with Firas Al-Najim, who was sporting a shirt featuring the faces of the supreme leaders of the Islamic Republic. Zahid issued an apology after the photo went viral, claiming she had not noticed the shirt and saying she “would never have agreed to such a photo if [she] had.” Najim fired back that she had noticed the shirt, that they had discussed it and Israel’s actions, and that she had nodded in agreement with him, implying that her apology was disingenuous. Najim asked people to come this week in honour of Daniela Bonamico, a local pro-Hamas activist who was detained and deported by Israel after trying to enter Gaza via a flotilla that departed from Italy. Huge news: Last week we exposed Toyota USA + Lexus for going woke and now just one week later they’re announcing BIG changes! Some highlights: • No more involvement in pride parades, pride events or LGBTQ children’s summer camps. • They will not participate in the Human Rights Campaign Rapid Response’s woke Corporate Equality Index social credit system. • All BRG activities must be focused on the core business of Toyota and be open to all. Toyota employees and dealers were all notified of the changes via email today. It’s worth noting that this is a company with a nearly $300 billion dollar market cap and 381,000 employees. Those employees will no longer be subjected to this divisive stuff. This is a massive win for sanity. I have to give the executives credit for taking this unifying action. It’s not easy to do but they’re preparing their business for future success by adopting corporate neutrality. The companies who adopt neutrality will win the future because they don’t violate the core beliefs of the consumers they rely on. Huge news: Last week we exposed Toyota USA + Lexus for going woke and now just one week later they’re announcing BIG changes! Some highlights: • No more involvement in pride parades, pride events or LGBTQ children’s summer camps. • They will not participate in the Human Rights Campaign Rapid Response’s woke Corporate Equality Index social credit system. • All BRG activities must be focused on the core business of Toyota and be open to all. More than 1,200 people in London have taken part in one of the largest acts of mass civil disobedience in British history, to protest the Palestine Action ban. At 1pm on Saturday, hundreds of protesters, many of them elderly, sat down in Parliament Square and wrote “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine action” on cardboard signs. Among those taking part was Reverend Sue Parfitt, an 83-year-old priest, who was arrested at the first-ever protest against proscription on 5 July, the day it came into effect. The action, organised by Defend Our Juries (DOJ), was designed to pose an “unprecedented simultaneous challenge to all three legal systems within the UK’s constitutional framework”. In a statement released before the protest, the Met police claimed the force had the “officer numbers, custody capacity and all other resources” necessary to arrest everyone. It was forced to backtrack on similar claims last month, speaking of the “entirely unrealistic” challenges it faced in enforcing the Palestine Action ban. On 9 August, 532 people were arrested for holding placards in Parliament Square, in what was at the time the largest mass arrest event in London since 1961 - but it took the police hours, and many hundreds more protesters were able to leave, despite having broken the law. Half of those arrested were over 60 - one was a blind man in a wheelchair. Police dealt with the huge number of arrests last time by processing them nearby in Westminster and granting most arrestees “street bail” - meaning they were released immediately and didn’t need to be transferred to a police station. This time, DOJ told participants to decline street bail, in a bid to push police resources past their limit. Key DOJ spokespeople who had been arrested and charged in dawn raids earlier this week broke their bail conditions to protest, as did many others who had been arrested at earlier protests, causing confusion for officers on the ground. The government’s controversial decision to proscribe Palestine Action makes it the first non-violent organisation ever to be banned under the Terrorism Act. On a serious note, and giving full credit to Governor Cox for what it seems he is trying to convey here, there are absolutely subversive groups who, whether nationally or right here in Utah, try to stop everything. It is frustrating, to say the least. But, Governor, you have built the machine that facilitates this subversion. You have created a culture of top-down administration and backroom deals. You have overseen the proliferation of bad legislation crafted by entities like the Unified Economic Opportunity Commission—a commission you created to empower the executive branch to craft legislation. And it is not just used to craft legislation, like the slew of bills to centralize control of water in Utah, but to act as a heavy hand. You ensure that anyone who opposes that legislation, or even dares to suggest the executive branch leave lawmaking to the legislature, will be harshly dealt with. Anyone who wants to do business in Utah understands that you start at the top, not at the bottom. Once you have the approval of the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House, the Governor, and his Office of Economic Opportunity, the deal is as good as done. The same could be said of the judicial system, where all appointees seem to owe some fealty to you. You know it, they know it, and it is demonstrated in the way they pass down bogus rulings in favor of the state and against the people. Now, you want to stand up and speak as if you are the entrepreneur who is tired of being stalled by that very machine. When I hear this, I wonder, "Who is 'we'?" It could mean "we the people," but it is coming from the person who has cut so many deals with environmentalists and judges; who has fostered close relationships with Equality Utah, Alliance for a Better Utah, the Sierra Club, and the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance; who literally made DEI Utah's top priority; and who created Nomi Health, then funded it through no-bid contracts. For so many of us who simply wanted to help Utah be better - who started businesses, ran for school board, city council, or other offices; who volunteer our time and money to good causes; who boldly defy the world by having kids and raising them to be productive, honest, kind humans—your words do not match your actions. For those of us who were forced to wear a mask, close our businesses, close our churches, and who were shamed for not taking a fake vaccine, we just aren't buying it. Maybe let Kevin O'Leary be the spokesperson for the STRATOS data center. Let him talk about how much money he is going to invest and let him sell the project. When you do it, it feels like we are being lied to.

On this Thanksgiving, as always I’m extremely grateful for my family, my friends (many of you on here), my health, etc. This year there is a lot to add to that list. In July my beloved Lakewood CC embarked on a restoration project that has turned out to be far better than anyone imagined. It would not have been possible without all that have been involved: First and foremost, I’m so thankful to the Lakewood membership for the support and trust given to the project. You will all be so proud. Next, my fellow Board members. We’ve spent a lot of stressful hours getting this thing to the finish line. To the office admin and the kitchen staff and the servers - thank you all for taking care of us the way you do. To my head professional Tim Perin Lakewood Golf Shop and your constant fight to keep this going. To my GM Alfredo C. Hildebrandt - thank you for coming back and changing the culture and mindset - we’re on offense now sir!
