A great start Governor, I would like to see lunch also provided. No child should be hungry in PA. Education staff know how difficult it is for children to focus attention on learning when they are hungry.

can’t believe the amount of people disagreeing on this. my only reservation is garbage, processed food made by the lowest bidder (probably Sodexo)…

Parents are supposed to feed their kids, not the government. Most parents do so. Is there a needs-based assessment applied? If not, why not? An assessment would identify families that need strategic assistance to get parents back on their feet while providing accountability.

As a Republican, not opposed to free breakfasts at school... but make it nutritious. And do not allow school lunchrooms to be a soup kitchen for parents and relatives as well. Fix those AC units and heaters too. And update those books. No students should be sharing books.

Kids can’t learn on an empty stomach. I say this as a classroom teacher who supervised the lunchroom for 20+ years. This school lunch was nutritious, filling, and free. Because in Minnesota, we will not allow our kids to go hungry.

This is Tina Kotek’s Oregon, she’s been falling students and parents, for almost four years, and we’ve had enough. When I’m Governor, we’re going to fix our schools and make sure funding goes to helping kids learn, not failed agendas and ideologies.
