Q: How do you design an amazing user experience? In the clip below, Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky explains that one route to a great UX and word-of-mouth growth is designing the perfect experience for one person: “How do you make something for a million people? I don’t know where to start. But if you pick one person, study them, and take their journey, you can actually build something really personal. You can design something and keep iterating until they love it. Don’t stop improving it until that person loves it, and you’re not allowed to move to the second person until the first person loves it. Then you get the second person and keep iterating until they love it. And so on.” As Brian argues, designing the perfect experience for one person is a much easier place to start than trying to design something for a million people. And when people truly love your service, they become your marketing department. He uses storyboarding and tries to imagine a “10-star experience” for an Airbnb check-in as an example: “A 5-star rating typically means nothing bad happened. But what if there was a 6th star?” He proposes the following ever-improving scenarios: 6 stars: You get to your Airbnb and there’s a bottle of wine and fruit waiting for you with a hand-written note 7 stars: A limo picks you up from the airport, and when you get to the house there’s a surfboard because the host knows you like surfing 8 stars: You ride back from the airport on a giant elephant and there’s a parade in your honor 9 stars: You land at the airport and there’s 5,000 teenagers cheering your name and you do a press conference in the front lawn of your Airbnb (”The Beetles Check-In”) 10 stars: Elon Musk picks you up from the airport and says “we’re going to space” The point here is that while you might not be able to create an 8+ star experience for your customers, the act of thinking through the most perfect experience for one customer and figuring out a way to scale something close to that to all of your users can help you arrive at a user experience that is truly amazing.

I don't think Cihan still understands what he felt for Meryem was never love, otherwise he would never have allowed her to go. Because love never quietly goes into the night. It resists. It disrupts. It fights until the very end. And even when it ends, it doesn't really end. However, Cihan is right in that because he chose duty over Meryem he now knows that there are no half measures when you fight for love. Fate and love are kind of intertwined like that. You don't chose who you love, that's always beyond our hands, like fate. But what we do for that love - that's in our hands. He didn't fight for meryem. Even now, he shuns any approach from her because he's fighting for Alya. That part he's still not clear on as per what we're shown in the fragman. Which begs the question, why? Which also begs the question what needs to happen to make him realize he's still not getting what fate and love want him to understand. This might be the best "AI Engineer" I've tried so far. ​ I'm an old school developer who started 30 years ago. I feel very uncomfortable letting AI take control of my code, but for the sake of science, I spent two hours building an application that took me weeks to build a couple of years ago. ​ I used Pythagora, a brand new tool backed by Y Combinator. They just released to the public. ​ Keep in mind that I use AI every day to write code, but Pythagora is something different: it's a tool that leads, and uses you—the human—as the copilot. ​ I go into more details in the video, but here is the TLDR; ​ 1. Holy molly! We've made a ton of progress on this front! This is way better than Devin when I tested it a few months back. ​ 2. Love the approach of generating a plan with sub-tasks before writing any code. ​ 3. The tools never tries to do too much: it tackles every small task one at a time, and gives you instructions so you test everything. ​ 4. It does exactly what you'd do when it gets stuck: writes a bunch of logs and uses those to correct itself. Pretty neat! ​ 5. It's fast. It runs locally. It's an extension to Visual Studio Code. ​ I'm impressed, but I don't think this tool is for me. ​ I'm not the type of developer who's ready to relinquish control. I felt I had no connection with the code because I didn't write it. It was not my code. ​ I know many people who don't care about this. I know many people who will get tremendous value out of Pythagora. I hope they keep pushing the limits, providing feedback, and helping this get to a point where old folks like me feel more comfortable using it. ​ Don't take my word for it. The best thing you can do is to give it a try and see how you feel using it. ​ Thanks to the team who built this, for all of the explanations and support, and especially, for sitting and listening to my dumb questions for 2 hours while I tested this.

Can you differentiate between the fact that we don't make laws that control the federal government? My God, what are we doing here? I'm not a lawyer. I was an English teacher and I comprehend that my fifth grade middle school English students would understand it. I am coming to you not from a point of ideology because I know in the minority party, we already lost that argument. You guys are way, way out in the ether with that. Thank you to the North Dakota Republican Party for having me at their state convention in Minot last night. 1hr and 5min keynote speech, no notes, no script, no prep, just the facts. I went because the NDGOP has wrestled their party from the establishment and I count them as fellow patriots in a battle for the soul of the heartland. We will save this country, if we're willing to fight for it. If we're willing to tell the truth about some things that are uncomfortable, but as real as the resurrection of Christ. It's gut check time in America. We can keep up the lies or we can knock down the walls and save the foundations of our great country. Full speech will air Monday 9pm CT across all platforms.
