When you try to "convert" someone, it creates a space where, more likely than not, what you'll grow is more negativity. Accepting someone for who they are and where they are on their path is really the only way to meet people. You can offer a hand, plant some seeds, but it's their garden and they are the only ones going to grow it... and it will be their way. As it should be. Any form of converting is like telling them "I'm right and you're wrong". But that thinking seems to be what's wrong, and it seems like it would lack growth all together. We have to be ok with the fact that all these paths, no matter how different they may be, are going towards a same basic outcome. The journies are styled different for each individuals needs, but that's exactly how it should be.

Beautifully written, Shandie! There’s no right and wrong in this journey. Everyone is exactly where they are supposed to be. This is the revelation I had with my entheogen ceremony a few years ago. You cannot impose what you see and hear from what you have discerned and integrated. Any act of force is an egoistic driven desire. You should respect everyone’s path. You are the captain of YOUR ship. You can offer a map, you can give some light, you can show them the way but they must row themselves.

Many years ago, I was in an incredibly difficult battle. The level of judgement around me was so painful. God spoke something to me that has forever changed me. "The right people don't have to be convinced."

My Christian father keeps trying to debate me to “save” my soul back to not being in blasphemous denial of Jesus being the only Christ. I smile & allow him to be within his own path. I will not even attempt to convince him of anything. For what do I even know anyway?
