With BharatNet across the country and Mahanet in Maharashtra, this dream began to take shape and today, it has entered a new era. This new model is unique because until now, dependence was largely on foreign technologies. Today, Voice of Indian Communication Technology Enterprises (VoICE) has brought together 24 Indian companies to develop the concept of a Smart and Intelligent Village. This effort not only strengthens technological independence but also aligns perfectly with the Hon Modi Ji's dream of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Satnavari was chosen for this pilot project because it can host multiple smart interventions. Farmers here are now adopting smart farming with sensors that monitor water quality and drones that bring precision in dispensing fertilizers. Safety in the village is being strengthened through smart surveillance. Schools now have AI-enabled classrooms, Anganwadis are digitised and health facilities are seamlessly connected to major hospitals.
