The police and particularly the Met Police have become tools of the current Uniparty Government. It is a political organisation - should a political tool be given deathly weapons? Why are we in this situation? Manufacture the crisis, wait for the response, increase the tyranny.

The problem with this now, is to arm the Police we have to trust them, and with each passing year we trust them less.

If the UK streets are so dangerous now that the police need to be armed, then so should honest, low abiding citizens be allowed to be armed. Or, at the very least, the most vulnerable in society should be allowed minimum pepper spray to defend them selves from these dangers

They can't even get the law right, just them with a gun? I think you would lose a lot of officers who would refuse to carry.

Sorry I don’t trust the police with anything they are already over armed and abuse it everyday then they cover it up they don’t tell the truth and lie about everything as well that’s a proven fact

If we arm all police then I want to be armed as well.

Back in the 70's, us serving at the time were asked if we wanted to carry guns. The answer was an overwhelming no, as we policed by consent (which does not appear to be the case now). But there was another consideration..

We want our guns back. We need to protect ourselves from the corrupt police forces that are ruled by out of control ppl with the woke mind virus.

There is no way on Earth we should be arming a captured and partisan police force.

You don’t deploy taser when confronting a man with a sword……you have to be within 21ft to deploy taser and thats two close when the attacker has a three foot long sword Needs baton rounds backed up by lethal munitions

A significant proportion wouldn’t pass the AFO course, or the fitness test. It’s not as simple as shooting a paper target in the centre body mass. Many fail on tactics, and on the drills. The course is rifle and side arm training. A basic side arm course still requires “tactics”

Weak senior officers limited the amount of ex-mil, so they could bring in more who would be ‘reliable’. We all know a few who wouldn’t even be given the TV remote, never mind a firearm (yes, I was an AFO), this ship sailed years ago.
