Software may be starting to show early signs of life but I still think the “hard” side of AI has the cleaner lane for 2026 and probably most of 2027. We're nowhere close to done with the physical AI buildout since compute demand is still ahead of supply, power is becoming the bottleneck and every layer of AI infrastructure still needs more capacity. I own some software names but I still see this as more of an oversold bounce than a true leadership rotation away from the companies building the AI infrastructure layer. Software probably becomes a cleaner leadership group once inference costs fall, enterprise AI budgets expand and AI features start flowing through margins but that still feels more like a 2027 story to me.

Literacy went from 10% to 70%. He believes the same thing is about to happen to software. Faster than 50 years. The best person to write accounting software isn't an engineer. It's a great accountant. Because knowing the domain is the hard part. Coding is just the tool. AI just made that tool available to everyone. Doctors will build medical software. Teachers will build education tools. Accountants will build accounting systems. Without a single engineer involved. We're not watching software get easier. plz debate me my opinion is the reason indie hackers see lower revenue is because we're all indie hackers selling to indie hackers we're selling software to people who also like building software so when AI comes along and helps you build 80% of any tool in 30 minutes, of course you'll make your own version but i don't think it's right to extrapolate that thinking to outside of this "indie hacker twitter bubble" to normal everyday people i believe this is just a "indie hacker / dev" related thing we're seeing in this twitter space, that's all just sell software to people who don't know how to build software
