Were receivers getting open for Hurts but he wasn't pulling the trigger? Let's look at the film: Eagles work a 2-man concept in Redzone (Goedert post + Barkley corner), fairly similar to the TD they threw to Barkley in the opening game vs. GB. Packers took everything away

Packers play Cover 3 while the Eagles release Goedert and Barkley to the flat, Dotson and Smith both run to the same depth and turn around (bad spacing). You would like a route to sit down over short/intermediate middle here to complement the flat routes & stretch the middle zone defender.

Eagles run under center play action, similar to a Yankee concept (Post + crosser). Eagles want to get it to AJ Brown on the crosser, but the pocket breaks down and he's forced to bail to the right. Hurts self-sacks for some odd reason.

Play-action from Pistol, Eagles try to work a Sail concept to bottom, Goedert and Brown's spacing is not good and Jurgens gets beat like a drum forcing Hurts to bail.

Eagles in a 3x1 Spread set, they attract the eyes of the middle hook defenders and get Goedert on the dig behind but Packers tackle Goedert before the ball arrives on a well-placed throw.

Eagles in 4-strong bunch, AJ wins on a slant against the isolated corner, but Becton gets pushed back into Hurts' lap causing an errant throw.

2nd &12, Eagles in 5-wide, and this is UGLY. Brown and Barkley jog clearout to the sidelines, Devonta releases to flat, Goedert runs a shallow cross and Calcatterra runs a sit route over the ball. If Hurts doesn't get it to Goedert immediately there's no play to be made.

Fake tush push alert! Hurts fakes dropping the ball, and AJ is supposed to run away from McKinney but Nixon does a good job recovering and Hurts sails the pass high and outside.

Play calling was definitely the number 1 issue yesterday. Not excusing Hurts. But like come on, only so much he can do on some of these plays. All in all, he played a fine game. He will need to be better to win the Superbowl. But we arent getting there if these are the playcalls.

I didn't like having so many routes out of the progression and ones that didn't synchronize with the protection scheme. They didn't have routes develop sequentially, making the read more difficult on Hurts.

I said exactly this! Hurts definitely held the ball too long at times but people act like Green Bay’s defense is bad. They had a lot of the plays covered and the route concepts definitely didn’t help either
