We're replacing our existing Electron apps for Basecamp with a recommendation to use the PWA instead. Chrome and Safari have both nailed the PWA experience, and they update automatically with the browser, so we no longer see the need for Electron. Viva the web!

april fools?

Nope.

Introducing OPEN, the first genre-defining AAA metaverse gaming experience with top-tier IP powered by web3 technology. Coming to @thereadyverse. #opensoon

Truthfully can't tell if this is an April Fools joke cause it's kind of online with your ethos

good luck displaying a second window, menu bar items, a popup dialog with search, etc.

No interest in any of those things. Web is all you need on desktop for an app like Basecamp. Mobile is a different story.

Tried them for three different Basecamp accounts. Works great, but unfortunately I am asked to log in once or twice a day. Not sure if I am doing something wrong. The Basecamp Desktop app never logged out. Is there a way to tell the PWA to never log out?

Maybe it's a silly question, but what convinced you to "bet" on PWAs? I understand it's a solid solution that works, but a couple of years ago it seems the trend went in a different direction. Any thoughts? Recommended use cases?

It was when Apple made PWAs on the mac awesome in Safari. That moved it beyond just being a Chrome/Edge option.

what about us firefox users :(

This is the only not-April-fool post you will see today here. Everything else is a lie 🤣
