We’ve all talked about how Dumbledore seemed to hold Voldemort back during their duel… but what about Voldemort holding Dumbledore back in the final moments? The way Dumbledore practically cowered before Voldemort disappeared was crazy. Was Voldemort actually putting Dumbledore under pressure, or was there more going on in... show more

He wasn't cowering before Voldemort, he was terrified for Harry. That was the exact moment the possession started

Movie-only detail due to them wanting the fight to feel more dramatic. In the books Dumbledore is calm and casual the whole time, and is absolutely not pushed by Tom.

This is the problem in the movie where it seemed that Voldemort had the upper hand. But in the books, it is quite the opposite. If you read those three pages, dumbledore was calmly walking towards Voldemort without a trace of fear and handling all his killing spells without any issue. In the end, Voldemort had to flee and the only time, dumbledore showed any fear was when harry was in danger at the end of the duel

Did you read the books? The movie misrepresented that particular part of the duel. At no point was Dumbledore even breaking a sweat. He was walking Voldemort down while protecting Harry and stopping Bellatrix from escaping

I think there was more going on. Dumbledore wasn’t scared of Voldemort, but he was clearly under pressure. The duel showed they were far closer in power than people sometimes admit.

This is why the books duel is much better. Movie Dumbledore was on the floor. Book Dumbledore was casually strolling towards him, calling him Tom and countering every spell he throws.

That wasn’t fear. Voldemort had just climbed into Harry. Dumbledore was watching the kid break, not losing the duel.

Read books man Seriously this generation is fucked

You not read the book?

Lee el libro marico

As snape said to Bella in the 6 book, Dumbledore is very old and this combat had affected him a lot

He thought he could actually take him on

He thought he could take him head on at first

he litterally had thousands upon thousands of shards of glass coming right at him Dumbledore wasnt cowering

If you're fighting a sneaky bastard like Voldemort & then he suddenly disappears on you trust me, you're going to be very terrified.

This is just weird choices by the movie again. Dumdledore does not fear little Tom Riddle. He's just there stalling time to make Voldemort run away. Dumby knows only Harry can be the one to end him so he's not even trying.

Dumbledore sabia que era inútil lutar contra Valdemort, pois a profecia dizia que ele seria derrotado por Harry (ou Longbottom).

Just read the books

Harry Potter il gêne Dumbledore aussi, Voldemort aurait été la victime de Dumbledore 🤣

The only time Dumbledore hesitated was when Voldemort possessed Harry. That would pose a challenge because Harry is now a shield for Voldemort and Dumbledore does not want to hurt Harry.

Tylko w filmie. W książce dumbledore bawi się z nim jak z dzieckiem
