This is overly complicated. I dig a hole, plop it in and in time it all fills out.

That’s ok but not great, if you don’t loosen the roots before planting they will continue circling within their original shape rather than spreading into the new soil and remain root bound. I have moved a couple of plants years later and they had hardly grown into the new soil.

Waste of time. Just loosen the roots, stuff them in and squish more soil around them. Then water to collapse any air gaps. Done. This guarantees an air gap equal to width of pot material.

Bad demo. #1 Those plants are root-bound and need to be loosened up. #2 Not packing the soil around the root balls will cause poor soil contact. #3 That top layer of soil is too loose. In two weeks the tops of the root balls will be visible because of settling/eropsion.

Why is it necessary to fill the containers with soil? Now she has nine containers of mud to deal with.

Riiiiight. Why didn’t I think of this beforeee!? Hmph.

I learned how to plant from my evil mother in law. She was a “master gardener.” She also did a lot of unnecessary things when she planted just to show how “knowledgeable” she was
